What is the main difference. If you are buying a laptop but it is just for everyday use would it be better to go for XP or is Media C ok ?

PC won't turn off
I can shut windows down but then my PC continues to run so I have to turn it off by the plug and when I switch the plug on the PC comes on (not Windows) Windows starts as normal. I have had a friend over to look but he can't understand it either its not over heating any ideas please? Simon

Unable to Auto Shutdown
Over a year ago I installed XP on my PC to upgrade from ME. However since I did that my PC no longer turns itself off when I shutdown. I now have to turn the PC off myself when it says it is now safe to do so - any ideas?
