About a year ago, taking MSE suggestion, I wrote to my bank as just may have had some cover when I took out a mortgage 20 years ago. The bank wrote back saying - they could not find any evidence of PPI so my claim request was refused. 3 months ago after pestering by PPI agency, I duly filled in forms. They have now written…

MBNA PPI upheld - advice needed
Hello, (Long post, sorry!) My PPI complaint to MBNA (dating back to the early-mid 90’s) appears to have been successful as they have written to me to say that it is being upheld and they have in fact also sent me a cheque for a little over £600. There are however a couple of points in their letter that I do not fully…

PPI with The Associates/Citibank
I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction. I had ppi with The Associates for a year in 2002. The Associates was then sold to the Citibank in 2003. I have sent an online complaint form to Citibank and I have to wait 8 weeks to hear if my claim will be upheld. If my claim is refused is that when I send in the…

Barclays Loan Interest question
Hi all, Not sure if this is the correct place to post but seemed the most logical. I have received a number of refunds from banks/credit cards for bank fees and interest charged when I had financial difficulties 4 or 5 years back. Literally all of the accounts that I defaulted refunded me something varying from £20 to £500…

Claiming PPI from previous marriage
My partner tells me that she would like to try claiming for PPI rebates from loans taken out when she was married to her ex-husband. She says that he was a bit of a loan maniac and he was juggling all sorts of financial agreements in both their names. The trouble is he controlled the financial side of their marriage and…

MGI added to mortgage without explaining the effect on interest
Whilst I accept that the MGI that I needed to pay to secure my Mortgage cannot be claimed back. When I was charged for it, they just said either cash, cheque or add to the mortgage. As I did not have a spare £600 at the time I elected to add to my Mortgage, however I was never explained the true impact of adding the money…

Plevin vs. Mis-selling
My husband had PPI on a credit card with HSBC for around 10 years. He tried to claim back PPI but his claim was rejected as they considered that they had not mis-sold PPI to him, however they upheld the 'Plevin' part of his complaint regarding commission and he received a smaller payout on this. We were on the…

PPI claim with clothes catalogues
I had clothes catalogues about 30 years ago and was probably paying PPI, although I have no paperwork (nor recollection of the titles of the catalogues) and I have since got married. I don't have the details to go direct, but would a claims company be able to research and find the relevant details? Thanks.

Hi all, this is my first post here, just after a bit of advice. Has anyone come across one of these letters before? The letter arrived from the Natwest PPI operations team this week. PPI from 1995 - can I still complain?
My mum found a folder of random old paperwork of mine in her loft the other day. I was having a nostalgic look through and I found a letter from Bain Hogg turning down a PPI claim I must have submitted relating to Thorn EMI. The reason I was turned down was because the policy did not cover termination of temporary or…
