PPI from 1995 - can I still complain?

My mum found a folder of random old paperwork of mine in her loft the other day. I was having a nostalgic look through and I found a letter from Bain Hogg turning down a PPI claim I must have submitted relating to Thorn EMI. The reason I was turned down was because the policy did not cover termination of temporary or casual work.

At the time I took the PPI out I was indeed in temporary employment and of course would not have taken it had the policy been properly explained to me. Ok, I shouldn't have financed a TV when I was in temporary employment but I'm older and wiser now!

The letter has both what looks like a policy number and a claim reference.

Anyway:

1. Is a complaint likely to be successful since this goes back to 1995?
2. The last I can find of Bain Hogg was when Inchcape sold them to AON in 1996. How would I go about submitting the complaint?

Thanks!

You're talking about finance from a shop like a TV rental place, they were not regulated until 2005 so no complaint is possible.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
