Carphone Warehouse - refuse to hand over online purchase.
Went into store to collect a simfree phone purchased and paid for on Saturday online. I have the email instructions "take the card used to make the purchase to validate identity". After going through name address etc, the assistant then picks up a tablet and says "I just have to.......". I stated that I was not interested…

Scam on my old dad
I'm afraid my 86yr old dad has fallen for the computer scam. A phone call telling him his computer has problems, he is told to log on, caller gets control of PC. Dad has sent £300 pounds to him via bank transfer. Realising after it's a scam Dad asks for refund. Caller says he can only refund to online banking. Dad goes to…

£12k for a bed, thats right £12k
Was in the HoF store at the weekend. They had a bed discounted to a staggering £12k, as we hadn't won the lottery that weekend we declined. Who would buy a bed like this, a very rich person. Is there a rule like £200 = poor bed. £1000 = better bed £12000 - best bed ever, and the one above didn't even have a pop up tv.

The Health Lottery
Recently had an email with an offer from The Health Lottery. The promotion was 60BACK where you got 60% bonus back if you bought at least 7 tickets (bonus had to spent within a certain time). Bought the 7 tickets and the bonus didn't get applied to my account although it was listed in my account transactions. Realised this…

HMRC tax refund email
Doing the rounds once again - asks for so much information from the recipient that these scammers could then use to drain bank accounts. I forwarded mine to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

Lidl Product Instructions
OH has just bought a Silvercrest Nutrition Mixer from Lidl. The instruction book is multilingual, and obviously the English part has been translated, rather than written by someone whose first language is English. An example "The cross blade attachment is suitable for stirring mouses" Surely anyone who is paid to be a…

University fees.
Does anyone else apart from me feel that university fees should reflect the level of student prospects rather than them all charging the same? University courses appear to be the only consumer products where people appear to be prepared to pay the same for a top course which leads to lots of opportunities for students to…

Hotels.com do not honour their price match guarantee
Hotels.com advertise when booking a hotel that if after booking you find it cheaper either at another site or hotels.com up until you visit the hotel you will be refunded the price difference, even if it's non-refundable where you will get a discount coupon. After spending £390 on a hotel, I found it had gone down to £320.…

Everest Warning and Help needed
To my shame I used Everest and below is everything that went wrong: -The Saleman dissapeared after receiving his deposit, despite saying he would turn up for the survey. -I have to chase Everest for 2 weeks to try and get an installation team to speak to me -The installation team would not listen when I said they could not…

Amazon slow dispatch.
I have noticed the incredible delays in amazon getting customers orders out in a reasonable time. Before you could expect amazon to send your items within hours of placing an order. Now it seems that they only care about prioritising prime orders. I was eligible for free delivery, placed order on 10th. BUT I elected…

Argos
As a Christmas present for my partner, I bought a playstation 4 from one of their stores in December 2015. It developed a hardware fault late last year, but unfortunately I didn't have the receipt any more or the original box... The local store said I really needed to find the receipt, and I spent ages turning over the…

Aldi Soup Maker Warning
The soup maker will only produce 1 litre of soup, not the 2 litres described on the box: ‘2L capacity lets you make enough soup or your favourite smoothie for the whole family to enjoy.’ The maximum soup line is 1 litre. The overall maximum for cold liquid is 1.5 litre. It does nothing at 2 litres. I measured the volume…

Fredrickson International, dealings with...
I had never heard of this company when they called me yesterday and in the middle of a noisy car park at the time, they caught me off guard. They asked for me by my full name and when I confirmed they wanted me to tell them my address. I refused to give this information due to having "run ins" before with dodgy companies…

Annoyed by some web sites
Quite often these days you are given the option of a Paypal checkout which I usually choose. This gives them the address, phone number and the money. So why do they want you to register on their site with passwords and stuff. I just did one that would not progress the order until I did so. A couple of months ago I tried to…

247HomeRescue
I've had a deeply unsatisfactory experience of being a 247 Home Rescue customer. The text below captures the nature of my complaint, which I have asked my Carer to distribute far and wide - using all social media available to her. I shall be leaving consistent information on every review website I can find. I am doing this…

Complained to British Gas as I don't want a Smart Meter !
BG have contacted me several times with regards getting a Smart Meter installed for free. I advised them last week that I do not want one and they promised me that I would not be contacted again. Guess wot ? Yep they phoned me today so I have emailed a director to get BG to stop contacting me; otherwise I will start…

Bauer Media / Greatmagazines.co.uk
Hi all - thought I'd share my experience with Bauer. When you set up a subscription with them, it's done as a recurring direct debit. Their policy is that, if there are no changes to the amount, then they will not send any reminder of the renewal. The first you will see is on your bank statement. If you decide to cancel,…

Warning: Maginon IPC 20C IP Camera (Aldi)
I posted this to an AV forum, but I think serves as a warning to others here thinking of buying the same camera as it is released to Aldi occasionally ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was given one of these security cameras as a gift and if I had the receipt it would be going back! The first hurdle was that during the setup over…

Worst Ever Experience
Absolutely the worst experience from a so called professional company I have ever encountered. The salesman did not have a full knowledge of the products. The installation was poor - I was left with a front door that was so stiff it was impossible for anyone apart from myself to operate. The advice being it would ease up !…
