Everest Warning and Help needed

To my shame I used Everest and below is everything that went wrong:

-The Saleman dissapeared after receiving his deposit, despite saying he would turn up for the survey.
-I have to chase Everest for 2 weeks to try and get an installation team to speak to me
-The installation team would not listen when I said they could not install the windows on the date they selected (2 months after the date set by the salesman) because I would be out of the country.
-The installation team told me there would be two teams installing the windows so the project would be done before Christmas. She lied and did not have the decency to tell me not to expect a second team. I had to ring the Area manager and higlight I would not pay, before anyone would talk to me.
- When the installation team turned up they identified scaffolding would be needed and as such they could not do the job. Area Manager said the surveyor should have picked that up but did not.
-When the second team eventually turned up, they swore so much and so loudly I had to apologise to my neighbours.
-They treated my garden as their dustbin throwing rubbish in the trees.
-They "forgot" to tell me that one window was installed with badly scratched glass, one handle was broken, and "forgot" to put screws and covers for screws on a number of fittings.
-They also forgot to replace the window ledges I paid for.
-The Area Managers refused to take my calls until again I threatened with non payment.

They have no seen the state of things and are not giving me an end date of when they will fix it and have indicated I may not get the ledges I paid for because it would be too expensive to take out the windows.

They are taking advantage of the fact I am female and are trying their best to bully me in to a bodged job. Without a hint of an apology or compensation. I have photos of all the damage but I have no idea who to complain to as FENSA do not deal with bodged windows and fittings only bodged buildings. Please help as I am in tears.

You already posted this on an existing thread.

Why weaken your complaint and reduce the chance of getting any help by showing yourself-up as a spammer?
  • Sorry this thread was to ask for help. I am at my wits end and I thought the other post was just to confirm to others that their earlier comments are valid. It is my first time posting on a forum.

You clearly confirmed that you had read and understoood the MSE policy on spamming/hijacking as part of your signup, so it ought to be pretty fresh in your mind!

Other than that, if you want my experience of shoddy Everest job, a firm and detailed letter, with photos to head office brought a swift and positive conclusion for me.

Here's the guy to write to:

    Peter Mottershead, CEO

    Everest House
    Sopers Road
    Cuffley
    Potters Bar
    Hertfordshire
    EN6 4SG

In my case, one of their senior staff tradesmen was sent-out for two whole days to clean-up/sort the poor workmanship and I was assured the installation team concerned were no longer working for Everest. They turned-out to be contractors.

What would be your best resolution here?
As far as the ledges are concerned , I presume they were ordered at the same time as the windows, not afterwards?

You ordered windows with ledges but didn't get the ledges?
    How come?
  • The ledges were ordered at the same time, I have no idea why they weren't installed. Neither does the area manager.

The idea solution would be to get the windows removed and to get the ledges replaced. The scaffolding is still outside so it could be done. I would even consider compensation and a refund if not.

However I was just told I wold get a refund because it would be too expensive to remove the windows and do it as ordered.

A refund of what? The price of the ledges?
  • Yes just a refund of the price of the ledge cost

you've just paid the deposit so far?
  • I paid all but the last thousand pounds. I refused to pay in full and the area manager I spoke to promised me it would get sorted, that's why I paid the majority. That area manager is no longer in charge and I have been passed on to someone who is unable to give me any answers and left me so distraught I needed to ask for help
