"real" ingredients vent
The Knorr stock cube advert with Marco Pierre White claiming that they are made from "real ingredients" has been annoying me for a while. Now I see that Walkers are advertising some deli crisps that are also made from "real ingredients" So what sort of ingredients would you use if you didn't have any real ones - imaginary…

Tesco
Exchanged £10 of my Tesco clubcard points for a £20 Cafe Rouge voucher to take DS (aged 3 at the time) out for an early dinner. The T&Cs state it has to be used after 5pm and you need to buy 2 main courses. On their menu is a list of kids main courses. When I went to use it, I was then told that you had to buy two ADULT…

ASDA online grocery (bit of a vent, but now praise)
Feeling narky last night (10.30pm ish), had to confirm my final order by midnight for a Saturday delivery. Despite auto renew being confirmed in the email to me on 20th Jan, it just wasn't happening - face facts £5…

Lookers Sheffield Awful service
I currently have an issue with Lookers Sheffield Ford dealership. I escalated the problem with Ford CS who have attempted to contact Lookers. Unbelievably, Lookers are failing to respond to Ford, managers not taking their calls and failing to get back to them over 3 days. Fuming. Oh I also posted the complaint on their FB…

Ocado & paypal
Having a rubbish day! On Wednesday I made an order & 'paid' by paypal, thinking I had added my credit card to the payment rather than my debit card. Today I saw that the money has come out of my account through the debit card on my paypal account & I didn't have the funds to cover it. I have now gone over my overdraft,…

Vent: Screen shapes/site shapes
Why is it that hardware manufacturers seem to insist the we get ever wider monitor. laptop, and tablet screens at the same time as most sites seem to think it's a good idea to display as a thin ribbon down the middle? What is worse is that the site designers are so incompetent that even on a tablet held vertically the…

CEX broke my iPhone!
Took my iPhone 5 into the Milton Keynes branch of CEX today. I know the phone was 2 years old but it was in good condition. There were no screen issues- I know that for certain. However they took it to 'test' and then they decided they couldn't buy it as apparently the screen was 'blanching' when pressed. Both my partner…

MightyDeals again, failing to meet commitments!
So, at the turn of the year I posted a thread about heated car seats that were advertised for Xmas delivery but, when getting the confirmation e-mail from MightyDeals, indicated they wouldn't be despatched until the New Year. Well, to their credit, MightyDeals acknowledged this and credited me back with the costs of the…

Legal and General
Had a brick through my window (!) on 7/1/15, which also damaged a door. The same day an emergency company boarded it up. Since then I have had to chase and chase to get it sorted. Legal and general referred it to Innovation Group Services who surveyed it on 13/1/15. Innovation referred it to Mitie who surveyed it on…

Beautemer-Beware!
I sent for free samples from Beautemer ( advertised on this site), but, unfortunately I did not read the small print; I paid the postage, but then , 2 weeks later, nearly £200 was taken from my bank account, as I had not returned them within 2 weeks! Please be aware of this company, and don`t get stung like I did.

Lastminute.com - travel cancelled on medical grounds
Dear MSE, I am absolutely at my wits end and want to warn all to stay away from LASTMINUTE.COM. July 2014 my best friend and I booked a city break to NYC; flights and hotel for October 2014. Late Summer 2014 I, the main traveler (person who booked the trip) received some unfortunate news that my Grandfather had terminal…

Tesco wine deal MSE points. Tesco Wine turned us teetotal on Valentine's day.
Prompted by MSE's blagged 1000 points promotion, we ordered 2 cases of wine from Tesco. The wine was due to be delivered in a 7am to 7 PM window on Valentine's day. When this excessively wide time window had expired and no wine arrived, we called customer services to be informed that it wasn't Tesco's fault but the…
