"I was astounded to get to the front door of my apartment block on Saturday afternoon to see a box of roses left all alone in the drizzle..."

  • I ordered flowers and a card from Moonpig which was "delivered" by Yodel. Or rather it was left in the doorstep in full view of anyone walking past. I only found one it by chance when I went to put something in the bin. No attempt to ring the doorbell at all. I am disgusted and won't be using Moonpig again because of this..
  • A yodel driver walked into our house once. Door was on the latch as my OH had just gone down the road and I was inside. He didn't even ring the bell, tried the door and it opened, walked into the hall and put the parcel down and left. I was upstairs, by the time I heard the door shut behind him and come downstairs the van was driving off. Before buying anything I always try to make sure they don't use Yodel now, and if I know a company does I won't use them.

  • The last two parcels I had from yodel they were opened or the box looked like it been used as a football. So Tassimo and Firebox won't get future custom.

It's as simple as that. The price of using a cheap courier is the cost of future custom.
  • I ordered some roses for my wife for Valentines day from Asda, and was assured they would be delivered on Sat 14th.
After waiting most of the day, I tried to contact Asda customer services, only to be told the only work Mon-Fri, rather silly I think.
I then checked the Yodel website, using the tracking number given by Asda, they said the courier tried to deliver at 7.00 pm, nobody there so left a card.
We were both home, and there was NO card.
The wilted flowers eventually arrived on Monday afternoon.
Moral, do NOT use ASDA or YODEL!!.

I hate Yodel deliveries.. they're usually at stupid times, or do insane things like leave stuff in my recycle bin.

BUT - when dealing with their warehouse directly I've found them great and really accommodating.

I've had a parcel "delivered" by Yodel before that got dumped in the doorway of a house two streets over. The address bears no similarity to my own so it couldn't have been a mistake, god knows why the driver dumped it there.
Other times they haven't even attempted to deliver parcels when I've been at home all day to receive them, and just claim no one was in.

I had the opposite, in that Yodel wouldn't deliver my parcel. I got next day delivery, promised for Monday. Then it was Tuesday, then Wednesday. They "couldn't find our house". In the end, I cancelled the order, and am unlikely to use that firm again, and I told them so.

Funny that in the days I was waiting for my package, John Lewis, ebay, amazon, DPD and 2 other firms managed to find our address and deliver packages!

Yodel are totally useless. It seems they are run by the millionaire non-doms who also own the Telegraph. Maybe they should actually try living here and seeing what service they get from their own firm instead of cutting margins and service to the bone...

  • The last Yodel delivery did in part arrive on the day it was supposed to - at about 7pm - but for some reason (probably lack of space) they hadn't bothered to load the other two boxes onto the van, so I then had to wait in again the next day - again until late afternoon - to receive those. The delivery before that one said on the tracking information that the driver had called and left a card at 11:59pm. Customer care were insistent that if the system said someone had been they had tried to deliver but when I pointed out that it was unlikely they had still been delivering at midnight, chased it up and miraculously found it. When it arrived the following day I asked the driver what had happened. His reply was "Yodel is rubbish". I tend to agree.

This is why if I've a choice of vendor and one uses DPD, they get my business, even at a premium

Up here Yodel sub-contract to a local firm. I had a problem with an email saying that I hadn't been in to receive a parcel and that a card had been left - both not true.

When I spoke to the local contractors the manager told me that customers are 'carded' even if no delivery has been attempted as the scanners Yodel issue can only accept 'delivered' or 'not delivered' and have no option for 'delivery not attempted'. My parcel had been put on the wrong lorry and so was never even within ten miles of the house but still I got the email. Luckily the local firm are really good and helpful.
