There were two of these available in my Aldi, one with stuffing and one without, did you pick up the wrong one ?

I didn't buy one because for another quid you can get a large Ashfield Farm chicken and stuff it yourself ! You can also buy a pack of roasting bags in the pound shop.

What preparation were you doing to it ? All you have to do it cut a hole in the bag !

keep your packaging and return it to your local aldi (receipt too)- you wont even need the chicken! The customer service in Aldi is excellent

    What a ridiculous post!

    Possible scenarios are,

    1. You picked up a non-stuffed version rather than the stuffed version

    2. you picked up a stuffed version, but perhaps in production, maybe the wrong one was put in the incorrect packaging. A mistake?

    3. Or - Aldi have decided to CON the entire population, having decided that they would get away with selling stuffed chicken without putting in any stuffing, saving a few pence per unit and making millions of extra profit.

Now really, and taking off the stupid hat, which of the three of the above is the least likely?

Or 4. Aldi are paying their suppliers so little that the suppliers have taken to cutting corners.

It's happened before, Aldi were supplied with products that were 100% horse meat. A fact that aldi lovers conveniently forget when ranting and raving about Tesco being supplied with products that contained tiny amounts of horse meat.

Aldi lovers held Tesco responsible for the horse in the items they were selling, so they should also hold Aldi responsible for the items it is selling.

My money is on a supplier cutting corners. leaving the stuffing out of, say, 10% of the products and claiming it was an error.

    You're talking absolute rubbish.

What were the 100% horse meat products ? I don't care who sells horse meat, even if it is mislabelled. Do you honestly think that suppliers are deliberately manufacturing stuff and missing stuff out ? Do you really think any manufacturer would risk their business doing this on purpose ?

Hang on, I'll just look back and see what you said at the time.

Yes, some were missing out the beef and replacing it with horse.

Yes, you can't buy meat from a slaughterhouse that only deals in horses and not know it is horse, not beef you are putting into the food.

It happens, in fact it happens so often there are government and local council departments all over the country set up to combat it.

So, where does it say that Aldi sold 100% horsemeat products ? Between 30% and 100% is what i read.

You don't need to trawl through my posts to see what i said, i'll tell you. I've already said it, i don't mind if food contains horsemeat.

you also missed out that before the OP Mrs Smith come along, picked up a non stuffed chicken then spotted the stuffed chickens, and rather than take the non stuffed chicken back she just left it with the stuffed chickens and then the OP come along and just picks the chicken up without reading the label. the receipt will most likely refer to unstuffed chicken and if it matches the packaging the OP has then what can Aldi CS do as she paid for what she got
  • lets not forget the hallal products that were "mistakenly" marked as hallal , but not spotted by the MFG or the importer or the wholesaler ,
