Day in the Life of Bob - Postman rings the Doorbell
I just had a rather interesting experience with the royal mail postman again and thought I'd share :) It went something like this [Doorbell rings, I answer the door] I open the door to find a postman, and another tall postman standing behind him. Both appeared to be from Royal Mail. Postman: RIGHT. I'VE GOT A BONE TO PICK…

I Want One of Those
I'm soooo annoyed. I like many other's on this site ordered some of the reduced Paperjamz items. I'm still waiting, after being told several times of delays, IT problems etc and my goods would be sent out soon. There's been loads of negative feedback on their facebook page which they have removed. So after no replies to my…

Verified by VISA - Warning!
I did a debit card transaction today but decided to abort the transaction when I was prompted for the VERIFIED BY VISA password (my card is registered for VERIFIED BY VISA) Imagaine my horror when the transaction went through anyway! I contacted the merchant who said that I should take up the issue with my bank. My bank…

What should I of done!?
Perhaps the title brought you to this thread because you are nosey. Hopefully you came to this thread because of the misuse of the word 'of'. I can accespt bad grammar on threads, perhaps some posters are old and not privileged to an education available to people today. But, this annoyance is associated, mostly, with…

Halfrauds
Is this Britains number one rip off chain ? I know for a fact ( from one of their suppliers) that their own brand products are specially made to a low standard, but they charge premium prices. Another problem with them is that they have no competetion, this is not good for us customers.

The Range Store Warning
I would avoid The Range stores for buying any furniture. Look at Dooyoo for very poor reviews, but my experience of their 'customer support' is terrible. We saw a bed on show and were told that was the last one (turns out it wasn't). It had a couple of small scratches and so they knocked off £50. They said it was 'sold as…

ASDA Shopping Survey
Today, I received an email asking me to take part in a Survey for ASDA. The email came from them (or their marketing partner). I didnt mind taking "upto 15 minutes" of my time to give some feedback and there was a (slim) chance to win £500 in the process. Well, I spent the first 5 mins thinking about the questions and…

DSG Retail Ltd - Minor Rant
Not a massive rant really, just a comment about poor customer service (surprise, surprise from DSG Retail Ltd). I went to Currys to buy a TV. I spent a while looking at the TVs on selection and finally made my choice. £880 including a table for a really good TV. While in store, I had searched on my phone for the TV and…

Praise for Tesco Ebay shop
I didn't even know until a few days ago when someone had a moan on here that Tesco had an Ebay shop. I had a look at what they were selling and they had a few things that i've been wanting to buy so I ordered a couple of bits. I bought a dvd boxset that cost me £10 with free postage, the cheapest i'd seen on Amazon etc was…

Anyone used afternoontea.co.uk?
I booked a 2 4 £15 afternoon tea deal at the Liverpool Hilton through this site, the Hilton has no record of the booking, plus the email address afternoontea gave for the Hilton was wrong, which was helpful. I'm unsure if its a genuine site, although you don't part with cash untill you go the hotel itself, I have emailed…

Public Sector Strikes
Now I presume that when these, ahem, hard working hard done by people go on strike they wont get paid.. Doesnt that mean they will save the country a fortune... I say they should have at least one strike a month then... Bang on I say Discuss! G

Praise for Lakeland
From my experience I have to say I don't think any company can surpass Lakeland (formerly Lakeland Plastics) for their customer service. I recently filled in a questionnaire from them and when I reached the question 'had I ever had any complaints...' I replied that I'd bought aPhillips ice-cream maker a couple of years…

Now for the moan
I recently changed my bank account to get £5 reward every month and was told that the new bank would transfer my direct debits and credits. They transferred all my direct debits and most of my credits then sent me a letter saying I could now close my old bank account. Good job I didn't as although they persuaded the DWP to…

Praise for Standard Life
I had to call Standard Life to change bank details and I got the usual, we are busy, please hold, etc. After about 2 minutes the message changed to "if you would like us to call back please leave your name and telephone number after the beep." So I did and I was called back.

At wits end with Opodo
Last week I tried to purchase a flight ticket for my FIL via Opodo. The transaction was initially declined, though I rechecked my card details and resubmtted, and the transaction was processed - however, it was not "Verified by Visa". However, the confirmation came through in my name, with me as the traveller. It appears…

Vent: People moaning about eating out/junk food
Why is it whenever someone mentions McD's/BK/KFC/Subway, the gourmet brigade comes along and starts whinging about everything from how much it costs to "zomg it's so bad for you don't you know they put polonium in every burger"? Is it just to up their post count? Is there any reason someone that eats the stuff would care?

Toys R Us
I am fuming at the moment about the way I've just been spoken to by Toys R Us and want to complain as high up the chain of command that I can. Basically, I ordered my daughter a bike and when it came it was damaged and looks to be in a used condition (scratches, slightly worn tyre, buckled wheel) so we complained and…

Tractors, Cyclists and Emmets
A Cornish rant. Why on a money saving forum? Because its costing me a small fortune in fuel getting stuck behind them. So I thought I would post a few hints and tips for the above groups. Tractors - When chugging along at 15mph on a busy A road in the rush hour, there are things called LAY-BYs where you can pull in from…

Why can't I by Euros?
Flyboy12 is off to France with the school, so I went to my bank, Santander (the biggest banking group in Europe) and guess what, they don't sell Euros. I couldn't believe it, I thought the guy behind the counter was joking. But he replied, "I think they are looking into it." What the flip???? So, consigned to the…
