Vent: People moaning about eating out/junk food

Why is it whenever someone mentions McD's/BK/KFC/Subway, the gourmet brigade comes along and starts whinging about everything from how much it costs to "zomg it's so bad for you don't you know they put polonium in every burger"? Is it just to up their post count? Is there any reason someone that eats the stuff would care?

well if you are happy to eat overpriced food that is full of fat, salt, additives and chemicals - instead of cooking from fresh wholesome food - far be it for me to tell you otherwise.
and I wouldnt claim to be a gourmet! just a sensible person who doesnt want to get ripped off and risk a heart attack at the same time.0 -
i remember when you actually got a decent burger out of bk and even mcdonalds back in the day at a very reasonable price, now they just give you carboard rubbish, two meals over a tenner, ridiculous, your better off making it yourself
or sitting smugly in the food hall at the shopping mall with a tasty jacket potato and chilli or cheese, whatever0 -
I suspect that it's the concept of processed food is what puts people off. There's nothing nutritionally beneficial in it. Just look at the whole trans fat issue. an additive solely created to reduce costs (thus increase profits.) It does nothing but harm to the human body.0

eating out - not eating at home, when you're actually out of the house.
cooking from fresh wholesome food - eating at home
can you see the difference yet?0 -

I eat McDonalds and I also cook home made meals from scratch - it doesn't have to be either/or.0 -
The forums are patrolled by the MSE Food Polis - "Ma boddy es a tempull innit". From the safety of their vicious keyboards they chastise you for your food choice despite themselves being 25 stone. Woe betide you if you mention any of the outlets above. The man without a signature.0
