Bizarre... I'd normally associate 'chav speak' with fast food... unless thats some other language I've not come across yet

Your Big Mac talks to you in chav speak? mine just sits there in a bun looking miserable and waiting to be eaten.

I am very glad that you clarified the "eating out" part of the title  :rotfl:

Haha that's a different kind of moaning!

well if you are happy to eat overpriced food that is full of fat, salt, additives and chemicals - instead of cooking from fresh wholesome food - far be it for me to tell you otherwise.
and I wouldnt claim to be a gourmet! just a sensible person who doesnt want to get ripped off and risk a heart attack at the same time.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Yes, I'm happy to do so, but aren't you implying I should do otherwise?

it makes people feel better about their own lives if they can criticise other people's food choices. There is no point staying in and cooking a meal from scratch with fresh, organic, fair trade produce unless you can ram the fact down other people's throats!

I agree with the OP when people have a problem or question about fast food it always gets hijacked by idiots who want to debate the merits of visiting fast food restaurants!

I tend to eat pretty healthy and cook from scratch most of the time... but now and again, especially after a night out on the tiles, there's nothing I like more than a big, greasy, dripping heart attack in a bun. Guess that makes me a bad person?!

eating healthy isn't exactly cheap though.
I can get burger and fries for £1.50, or a 9inch pizza (with three toppings), fries and a can for £3.39 and plenty of other tasty junk food nice and cheap but if i want a nice healthy sandwich it'll cost me £3 and i'll still be hungry... i suppose i could drive home on my lunch break and cook from scratch from wholesome tasty organic food that was brought up on a diet of lentils and affection..... but then i'd get sacked for taking a 4 hour lunch break.

Hubby and me are having fish chips and curry sauce on Thursday evening this week, and I don't care what anyone thinks.

It'll be the first takeaway this year.

No radioactives unfortunately, maybe I can buy some to spinkle on, probably tastes a lot nicer than parmesan :)

The worst/funniest one goes like this:

'I was in McDonalds with my son and the guy serving spat in my food...'

'You let your SON eat McDonalds? You MONSTER!!! Someone should report you to Child Services! I'm glad your food got spat on, it's the least you deserve after practically killing your child letting him eat that stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Early this year, I just realised that I was eating too much junk food (McD's etc) so I have cut it down to once a month if I fancy it e.g. chinese or local chippy.

I find that if I have fast food (McD/BK/KFC), the additives drive me crazy.. Haha. I find it's much better to not eat it now !

Nobody is disputing that junk food isn't the healthiest in the world - the clue is in the name. But why does every discussion about a fast food restaurant has to turn into the OP getting slated for choosing to eat there in the first place? There's always at least one person that has to assert his/her superiority by saying they only cook at home from scratch. Everyone has different tastes... vegetarians hate smug meat-eaters, meat-eaters hate preachy vegetarians... can't we all just get along :D
