At wits end with Opodo

Last week I tried to purchase a flight ticket for my FIL via Opodo. The transaction was initially declined, though I rechecked my card details and resubmtted, and the transaction was processed - however, it was not "Verified by Visa".
However, the confirmation came through in my name, with me as the traveller. It appears that in between the rejected transaction and the processed one, the traveller details switched from FIL's to my own. Opodo are not budging.
I can see from my Traveller Profile that FIL's details have been retained, and I have put it to them that the only way for this to have happened is for me to have entered the details as I am claiming.
Do I have any recourse here? The CS I speak to have varying accounts of whether or not the ticket could have been voided immediately - though a moot point as we're a week on now - and the best suggestion the last chap could give me was that put my complaint in writing, "though I would just get a generic response with the same answer".
The purchase was made with a Visa debit card.

Well I've finally had my money back - good old fashioned letters to the right people (no, not the CEO, SirMarcus!) really does work.0
