Good or bad idea?
Okay so the OH won't let me get another kitten, but, he's sodding off to Belgium this weekend so should I just get one while he's away? I know he'll fall in love with it when he sees it, but I'm not too sure if its a good or bad idea? What are your thoughts?

Cat neutering charities
Hi, I need to get my 2 new kittens neutered and was informed by a friend that there are some charities which will neuter kittens for free. I am not in receipt of any benefits so could not use places like PDSA. I live in Oxfordshire. If anyone knows who these charities are I'd be very grateful! PS - I have done numerous…

Pet Insurance - Pre-Existing Condition (Adivce Needed)
Hi all, My pet insurance for my cat is due for renewal within the next few days. Despite no claims, the policy has gone up since last year. I'm with AXA, and have picked one of the lifetime policies as they will obviously cover conditions for the lifetime of it, if you keep renewing. Our cat hasn't had any particular…

A Warning about ZOOPLUS
Used Zooplus yesterday for the first time. Was attracted by their 10% of first order offer. As I was checking out the shopping trolley it showed the discount of the free postage and the 10%, but when I paid (through paypal) the 10% was no longer showing. When I queried this with Zooplus I was told that because I did not…

Rescue Centre Problems
There is a rescue centre near me they take in all kinds of animals. I used to help there but after witnessing some things I don't have anything to do with them anymore. There are so many things wrong with the place I don't know where to start, but the two main things are the treatment of the animals and the constantly…

Cat - fluid on the lungs and heart failing
Hi Guys, Took our baby to the vets this morning as her breathing was a bit out of sorts. Ended up being told she has fluid on the lungs and her heart is giving up :( She needs an x ray but is too weak to stand a sedative so we were sent home with medication and told to phone this evening. We did as there was no change and…

At what point does scrapping become fighting? (cat)
Hi all. Further to my earlier post about cooped-up cats it seems we are looking at a while longer with both cats indoors. I can't realistically see us being able to let our older cat out without her kitten following - they are very close: last night I tried separating them for just five minutes as they were scrapping a…

Confined kitties :(
Hi all My poor cat and kitten are going crazy cooped up in the heat. I am absolutely dying to let them out, and think that life will be so much easier for them (and us) as soon as this happens. They have always scrapped a bit, but with the hot weather and the kitten growing every day they are now having full-on fights most…

Cat and Dog Relationship Advice!!
Hi Guys, About 9 months ago I moved in with the OH. He has a dog and I have a cat. We were under no illusion that they were going to be best friends but in reality the dog just wants to kill the cat!! We have a house where you open the front door onto the stairs and a door to the downstairs, this means that we can keep…

Cool bedding?
Any ideas greatly appreciated ..... My lab has a duvet in a cover (then folded in 1/2) for his bed - easy to keep clean, wash and seems to be comfy! However, it's so humid here he's roasting! My bedroom's particularly "oven like" and was a sweltering 26 deg last night:( I don't particularly want him lying straight on the…
