Cat gone missing - frantic :(

Hi,

Not really sure why I am posting this but I am frantic with worry and need to talk about it :(

My cat did not come home last night. She has never done anything like this before and I am worried sick (hence being awake at this hour). We live in a very rural area and yesterday she went out at about 8am. At about 12 I heard 2 gunshots and I haven't seen her since then :(

At the back of our house is open farmland and I have found out that someone was walking a very large dog in the field directly behind my house just after the gunshots so if my cat had tried to come home she would have come across this and she is quite a timid cat.

I am hoping that she has been spooked and run off somewhere to hide for a while but it is now light and she is still not home :(

I am so worried and I'm making myself ill. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and I got myself into such a state last night crying etc that I ended up feeling dreadful and now have stomach pains :( I just can't help feeling something bad has happened to her :(

Don't really know what else to say, just to ask you all to please spare a thought for my little kitty and send her wishes to find her way home again quickly xxx

    Hi
Hopefully she will come home soon but a useful trick is to vac the whole house and empty the bag around outside. Apparently they can recognise the smell of home.
Worked for me when one of mine went AWOL.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Hi there, I'm sending positive wishes that your kitty comes home asap. Please try not to worry, she has probably just found herself a nice cool spot and is having a lovely long sleep.

I know exactly how you feel!! My cat has been missing for a while now. A lot of people have recommended the hoover emptying! And I've heard many have had success with it. Maybe try putting out food too, when she gets hungry the smell may draw her home. Sending positive thoughts your way. Will keep everything crossed. Please let us know when she comes home.

    Hiya,

Thanks for all your well wishes xxx Still no sign of her :( we've looked all round the field and the farm and nothing. I keep thinking if something bad had happened we would have found her little body, so trying to keep positive and calm.

I'm trying to keep calm but have been throwing up this morning which I think is partly through stress. I've been at the doctors and she said everything is ok with the baby but if I'm sick anymore she wants me to go to the hospital so they can keep an eye on me (there was a bit of blood in the sick :( ) so I'm trying to chill out as the last thing I want is to ne admitted to hospital on top of everything else :(

I have rung the identichip company and they have flagged her as lost on the database and I have also rung around all the vets in the area and no-one has seen her. The vets have all put her in their lost and found books and will ring me if she is brought in or anyone rings about her.

Going to go for a walk around the fields this afternoon and ask all the neighbours and farms to check their outbuildings etc in case she's locked in somewhere.

Good, I'm glad you are trying to keep your stress levels down. You must be very tired too.

Have you tried going outside, calling your cat, then slowly opening a tin of beans, or tin of soup, or doing anything that resembles her cat food being opened and dispensed? She must be getting peckish by now, her tummy will tell her to go home. I still think she'll be snoring her head off in some cool and comfortable spot under a hedge.

Check your garage and other buildings nearby even if you think she couldn't be in there.

My cat did this to me a couple of months ago. She always came home by 8pm for her dinner and when she didn't I started getting worried. I started looking for her at about 11pm but I couldn't find her. I couldn't sleep that night because I was worrying about her so I got up at 7am to look for her.

As soon as I went past my garage I heard a cat miaowing nearby. I couldn't see any cat and I was surprised and doubtful it was my cat inside the garage because it was locked and hadn't been open for about 4 or 5 days (and I had seen her the previous morning). I opened it anyway and out shot my cat and was asking to go in the house.

I still don't know how she got in the garage and I'm still watching her to see her teleport somewhere :D

You have to be positive for the sake of your baby, do something to take your mind off it, read a book, come on here and
chat, you cant think of two things at once.

She'll probably just come poodling in of her own accord when your least expecting her.

Let us know when she does, won't you.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
