Cat gone missing - frantic :(
Comments
-
Just been for a long walk round the fields and wood
I did exactly this to no avail - could not believe I had not found her - searched for hours.
A couple of days after I'd given up all hope, she came home - what a fuss she made! (The children were playing at a neighbour's farm, so she may have followed them home.)
She may have been lost (I think neutered cats also have their sense of direction removed) or she may have been happily hunting without a thought of us, frantic at home.
I use a loc8tor now, so the misery is over quite quickly - even though every time I still can't believe it will work.
It is expensive - but well worth it!
Your cat has probably got distracted, and hasn't noticed the time. I hope she will be home soon.0 -
They look good - wish you could get something similar that works off their microchip! (mine don't wear collars)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I said exactly the same thing.
This is the only reason he wears a collar - but it seems he doesn't mind a bit.
The last time we lost him the collar had come off  but it had taken us to his vicinity and he answered our calls. (loudly!)
We still use the easy release collar - since I am home all the time (he's locked in if I'm not) I do check on him frequently when he's out.
GPS looks good - but I am waiting for it to work with the microchip.0 -
I'm liking the idea of these trackers
might have to invest in one of these.

My indoor cat managed to get out a while back. She was gone for two weeks. Two weeks I spent walking the streets till 4am.
I admit I'd given up hope and was making tea one night, looked out the window and there she was on the window sill. She was thin and had a cold in her eye. Other than that she was a-okay.
Sending you positive vibes.Sigless0 -
Fingers crossed for you
One of mine disappeared for about a week last summer - was found thin and starving by the local football teams equipment shed - We think she had got shut in there and as they only practice once a week she must have been shut in.
Hoping she turns up soon
Take care of yourself and baba
xxxI don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Oh dear...I came on to find out what was happening...sorry to hear your cat isn't home yet. All these stories of wandering cats is giving me hope that your kitty will return soon. I'll log on again in the morning to find out if the little minx has come back. In the meantime please look after yourself, try to relax and get some sleep as you must be exhausted by now and you do need to rest!0

Hi OP
So sorry to hear about your cat. There are now four posters on here I've read about whose cats came back after they emptied the contents of their vacuum cleaner in their back garden - something to do with the smell floating and a cat being able to use it to locate home.
Please do try it, you never know. I'd be distraught, so I completely understand. She may have been spooked, run off, hidden for a bit and now just needs a bit of help finding her way home.
Please update us, and I'll be thinking of you and your cat.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0
