Good or bad idea?

Okay so the OH won't let me get another kitten, but, he's sodding off to Belgium this weekend so should I just get one while he's away? I know he'll fall in love with it when he sees it, but I'm not too sure if its a good or bad idea? What are your thoughts?

I'm like that too, if someone tells me I can't do something, I do it.
But a kitten?

Sorry meant to say OH AND Housemate... always forget about him. Already have two cats, one is an absolute nightmare (which is why we all love him so much) but he is a real handful. Hmmm decisions decisions http://www.gumtree.com/p/pets/8-bengal-cross-kitten-45-pound/83208726 really want the one in the 4th piccy, that little man looks like a character... or the dark brown one. I hope they're boys- can only have boys!0 -
Bad idea - surely a relationship means joint decisions, especially if he has to live with them as well.
It's not about "getting permission", but if you're determined to go ahead at least have the courage of your convictions and do it when he's around, not going behind his back. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Oh other thing I forgot to mention is, i've just taken a job thats got reduced hours for the first few months so as well as there being someone in all morning every morning (usually), I'll be here from 1:30pm until september, which is why I thought now was probably the best time to get one

Fair point, I've not mentioned one for a few months but my general mentality was to pretend that its a suprise. I think I need to grow up tbh! Oh well back to cooing over them on youtube!0 -

Yes, even for someone who's not a cat person it's cute.
As the owner of a devil dog (aka bull terrier), this one gets me every time.

Why do you want a kitten, and why doesn't your OH want one? Why not an adult cat? Can you afford three cats even if you lose your job or split up or one cat gets a chronic illness (sorry)? Have you considered fostering rescues?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My thoughts are, you are doing this because a) he said no when you asked which, added to b) (in bold) = well if he's sodding off, I'm going to have my kitten so ner ner!Okay so the OH won't let me get another kitten, but, he's sodding off to Belgium this weekend so should I just get one while he's away? Bad idea because it sounds like you are point scoring/proving a point.
You already have two cats (one you call a nightmare!) Reduced hours for 3 months may sound great, but kittens need a bit more than 3mths worth of attention. Why not give some extra love to the ones you have? Better yet, why not give some extra attention to your relationship with your OH as opposed to tranferring that attention to a new kitten to point score over his trip away?
OH saying no and going away to Belgium for a few days are not really a solid reason to get a kitten
