Weekly Flylady Thread 17th December 2018
:xmastree: Christmas week starts here :xmastree: Last full week before the big day - lots of flying to be done! Thank you to Valli for last week's thread What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often…

Tips for new homeowner
I completed on my house on Friday. I didn’t have space to store things before buying and moving such as saucepans etc so I’m doing it all now. I do have family helping with things such as beds, duvets etc I went to Ikea today and bought a set of 3 basic saucepans for £7 as a temporary thing. What would you find in charity…

Goats Cheese
Which goats cheese would be best for toasted paninis. I'm planning a lunch of toasted paninis with goats cheese, red peppers and caramalised red onion chutney, salad and french fries, but I'm not sure of the type of cheese to use. Any recommendations please?

Biscuit storage
Have made some date and oat biscuits but unsure of how long they will keep and the best way to do it. Currently got them in an airtight container. Any ideas how long they will keep well in such a container? The recipe http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/17386/oaty-date-cookies.aspx made about 36 biscuits so wondering if it is…

Old style buffet, share your tips!
Hi all I have to organise a traditional buffet for a Christmas event and wondered if anyone else would share their tips and ideas, particularly about how you work out how much food to supply, I always do too much. I want this to look like I have spent lots of money and time on the food (both of which are in short supply).…

Another use for.....
I finished a roll of wrapping paper today and was left with a (quite sturdy) thick cardboard roll. I hate throwing stuff away so I'm going to chop it up and use it to sew seeds in. The cardboard will eventually disintegrate. I also cut up plastic milk containers to use as scoops for pet/bird food. Anything else?

Cleaning Converse trainers advice
I hope this is the right place to post, wasn't quite sure. My son has been given a pair of new converse trainers, I think they were 'ex-shop display' as one of them is a very different colour. The rubber toe and edges around the shoe are a really bright yellow/orange. I'm trying to find out if there is an 'old style'…

Monthly food bill for a single person is £170- help!

I hadn't realised I spend an eye watering £150-£170 on food monthly, that's before eating out at work £20- that's stopped as of this month and will continue. Question about using Ebay via TopCashback site
Afternoon all :) Not sure if this is the right place, but I'm sure somebody will tell me if it isn't ... If I need to buy anything online, I go via TopCashback, and if I buy something from Ebay as a BIN, I get my 1% or whatever it is in due course, which is all fine and dandy. But what I now want to know is - how do you…

Freecycle etiquette
I am using freecyle to give away items which the charity shop will not take. I am new to freecycle and was hoping there might be some freecycle experts here who can advise me. I have over a dozen people interested in an item and the person I chose to give it to has not replied to my email offer which I made 24 hours ago.…
