Aldi Squash - what recipes do you use?
Had the intention of buying a butternut squash to make soup, but saw the small squash for 39p. I have bought a green one and a yellow and green striped one. Before I cut into them, are they suitable for soup? Same consistency as bns or more watery? Less flavour? Would love to know how you all cook them!!

Weekly Flylady Thread 15th October 2018
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

My flat is so full of random stuff I don't know where to start
Hi all, If this is posted in the wrong place I do apologise. My flat is full of stuff. Like stuff upon stuff upon and I just don't know where to start with getting rid of it. I recently got rid of some bags of clothes but feel like I haven't made a dent. I've tried only keeping things that bring which joy which is most…

What are they?
I was in the market when I saw some green fruit about the size of gooseberries. So I bought some. Cooked them with a little sugar. Oh my, they are so sour! They have a single Central stone. I have no idea what they are - except that in their current state they are inedible. Any suggestions?

Best buys from Lidl?
We've recently moved and now live near enough to make an occasional expedition to Lidl worthwhile. What's your best buy tips that I could stock up on from there? I'm looking at household and dry goods and maybe dairy rather than meat or veg as we have a wonderful farm shop within a mile.

Juicing.....on a budget so can't afford organic....OK to still leave skins on & weight of beetroot ?
Hi all, have a Heston Blumantile juicer. Centrifugal but apparently one of the only ones that's SO FAST (you can do WHOLE APPLES in it!) hardly any enzymes or vitamins are lost. Bargain off EBay....ex display but still 1 yr guarantee. Very easy to clean. I've recently not been well & have been using the juicer with…

Aldi/Lidl Fruit and Veg
I'm quite a 'newcomer' to shopping at Aldi - less of a 'newcomer' Lidl - and I'm generally very happy with ordinary tea / coffee / tinned stuff / regular bread / fresh meat / dairy produce that I've bought there, BUT .................. am I the only person who is quite disappointed with their Fruit & Veg? Or have I just…
