We've recently moved and now live near enough to make an occasional expedition to Lidl worthwhile.
What's your best buy tips that I could stock up on from there? I'm looking at household and dry goods and maybe dairy rather than meat or veg as we have a wonderful farm shop within a mile.

Cleaning things, the 79p sprays are as good as cillit bang.
Flour sugar dried fruit eggs etc, all baking stuff really. Cheap and good.
Tonic water!Magnolia Stellata0 -
I bought some espadrilles last year for £7.99 best shoes I have ever worn! If I ever see them again I'll buy ten pairs (believe only Belgium had them this year) as they are now too tatty to wear out. Bumped into a chap at work wearing them this year and he agreed that there were the best he'd ever bought.

I find their tonic water goes flat very quickly.
I do like:- plain authentic greek yogurt (not the low fat stuff tho), oatcakes, fig & walnut bread, blue stilton cheese, super nutty granola, Alesto berry & cherry mix (to add to granola), Baresa pesto alla Genovese.0 -
Great suggestions so far, and I realise I've always wondered about their wine. If it's a £ or two cheaper a bottle that will save us a considerable amount if I'm being honest.
Are their dishwasher tablets any good? It's the first time we've had a dishwasher, so we've stuck with the big brand for now, albeit on special offer, but do Lidl do a version that's cheaper but still gets everything clean?0 -
Greek style coconut yoghurt, 85p and absolutely delicious!! Italian olive oil and nuts also v. cheap for the quality. Their tinned dog food is much appreciated by our dogs, even the fussy collie, ( I have started to buy the large tins rather than the six packs of normal sized tins so I don't have the plastic wrapper). I have to say, I have yet to be disappointed with anything from Lidl.0

This thread is better merged with the existing: Good and Bad Buys from Aldi & Lidl. OP, ratheer than wading through 2 years of posts, search the thread for items that you usually buy: you may be able to get an opinion, depending on whether the item is reallly good or shockingly dreadful. I have to say that there's not much on my usual shopping list that I'm not happy to buy at Lidl or Aldi.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

The dishwasher tabs are good. I always use the formil non bio washing liquid and the dousy fabric conditoner. I always stock up when they are on the super weekend deal. Same goes for the aloe vera toilet roll and the kitchen roll.
There's so much more I would recommend, staples in our house include
Pasta
Pesto
Rice
Flour
Brown sugar
Custard
Gravy granules
Porridge oats
Granola
Coffee and tea.
Just try and see what you think. I'm actually struggling to think of something I have tried that I wouldn't recommend. Also the bakery items are delicious.0
