Had the intention of buying a butternut squash to make soup, but saw the small squash for 39p. I have bought a green one and a yellow and green striped one.
Before I cut into them, are they suitable for soup? Same consistency as bns or more watery? Less flavour?
Would love to know how you all cook them!!

Don't know if this article is of any use to you, clareski - http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/6260/baked-acorn-squash.aspx
They're calling the small dark green ones 'Acorn Squash' and it says that it's suitable for all 'winter squashes'.0 -
I don't see why they wouldn't be suitable for soup. Allthough I wasn't impressed with the size for 39p, you're better off buying a decent-sized butternut squash.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I ended up making a huge pot of soup with the two squash (roasted in the oven first), sweet potato and lentils. Needed a bit of cumin and chilli, but tastes ok !!0
