Cooked chicken - ok to eat?
I think I know the answer to this, but just want to check before throwing out! I bought a packet of Tesco cooked sliced chicken yesterday (Use by 26/05). Unfortunately I left it in the car overnight and for most of today. So about 24 hours. It still felt cool to touch but I'm wondering if I should just through it away?…

Where did I go wrong with my bread??
I got a bread machine for mother's day [STRIKE]after dropping shameless hints for almost 6 months[/STRIKE] and I've been having a great time experimenting with it. I've been mostly making herby loaves and dough for ciabattas/subs but today I decided to try a plain white loaf for the first time. I found this recipe on…

Unusual Recipe Help
Hello Old Stylers. I doubt many remember me. I've posted on here very occasionally but lurk quite a lot. Anyway, I am looking for some recipe ideas. I've had a bit of a cancer thing which now seems to have gone and I've gone back to cycling. I've done a few 10-12 mile rides which are pretty easy logistically: you take a…

Weights of pre-packed fruit & veg
Am I the only one to have noticed that some pre-packs have more of the produce in them than other packs? I only noticed this a couple of weeks ago, but now I weigh several packs and have found the weights can vary by several grams, so I buy the heaviest pack. I guess as long as they don't weigh less than the stated weight…

Tightening the belt
Hi just popping on for a but of advise. Our income has just dropped by £200 a month and I'm sat with various spread sheets, lists & plans. We knew it was happening so have stocked up on things we can, paid a few big bills ahead of time and are generally at least a little prepared. I was just wondering what people would…

Home Made Chicken Nuggets and Fish Fingers/Fishcakes
I used to make these when my daughter was little, but much time has passed by since then, and now have a 2 year old granddaughter to make for. I'm doubting myself as to what I did. :o As I live abroad, they only visit once a year, hence my child cooking skills haven't been utilised in such a long time. I am intending on…

Cleaned out the store cupboard!!!!
Well, it had to happen, it was inevitable. We cleaned out our large kitchen cupboard where we keep dried herbs, spices, tins (all kinds of tins) and bottles (vinegar, oils etc). We have found - 6 x baked beans, 6 x chickpeas, 4 x black eyed beans, 6 x chopped tomatoes, 3 x artichoke hearts, 3 x pineapple slices and cubes,…

Corner desk curtain?
Hi, am hoping someone will have a good idea for me. Son left behind a large corner desk unit and other cupboards. I don't really use it as a desk with a chair and have some storage under the footwell area. Was wondering how to add a pretty curtain around the curve - WITHOUT spoiling the desk or making lots of holes in case…
