It's Friday, Let's hit the Town
Friday. BoP has his apron on and BoPsie has her bib on. Wobbleade is sourced and the Thai is being looked at for later. A dance is ok, but a nose bag for the way home is essential. Excuse my apologies should I forget to rise in the morning! 28 years wedded to BoPsie and 29 together!

freezing cream/mushroom strogonof
I have some cream which I need to use up or freeze. I had been going to whip it and freeze it in spoon size portions but I have just bought a huge box of mushrooms for £1 so was thinking of making mushroom stroganoff. Would it be best to make the stroganoff without the cream. Whip it and freeze dollops with the stroganoff.…

Buying second hand
So ages ago I learnt to stop buying new if possible and go for second hand recycled. It took me longer than it should to realize that even cheap stuff bought as a bargain is still clutter and money wasted if not actually needed. Now I look at things and ask myself "would I pay full price?" If the answer is no then I dont…

Cold calling
Is there any truth in the rumour I've heard that when someone calls your landline telephone and there is a pause and clicking the other end before anyone talks to you that they are reversing the cost of the call. I was under the impression that you actually had to agree to a reverse charge phone call so am rather confused.…

Marmalade scissors !
Made a rash purchase in John lewis today - somemarmalade scissors! No, I'd never heard if them either but apparently they have three blades instead of two and make light work of chopping up fruit peel for marmalade. Has anyway used them? Do they do what they claim? Or at £8 for two pairs in a blister pack were they a waste…

Summerlady's chance to change everything

Using a slow cooker when out?
I know this is possible, but I'm still a bit paranoid...is it really safe to do so? I have a Tefal 8-in-1. I'm wondering if I can put the main food (meat, veg, etc) on in the morning, go to work, and then come back and put the rice on in a separate compartment..hmm. I'm just too scared to leave it running whilst I'm away…
