Can i use wholemeal tortilla wraps as a flatbread?

Options
I was going to make flatbreads, but then realised that i have some tortilla wraps to use up.

Could i just toast them in a pan do you think, or are they too thin to be used as flatbreads?

It depends what you want to use them for, but I can't see why not. I tend to use flat breads and wraps interchangeably especially as flat breads can be hard to find.
If it was me, I'd just give it a go, especially as they need using up anyway. Enjoy :)

They don't taste like flat breads but depends what you want them for.
  • You've probably eaten them by now, but I use Discovery wholemeal tortillas as a chaphati substitute - they taste a lot better that most supermarket ones. You could just wrap them in some foil, sprinked with water, and put in a hot oven for 5 minutes.

I use wholemeal tortillas for lots of things

    • Pizza bases - cover and I cook on Aga hob but a frying pan or griddle would do just as well. Do not put too much topping on
    • Or just fold in half then half again and put in dry pan or griddle, keep turning till nicely coloured and crispy - lovely with soup or curry
    • Wraps as a more interesting option that sandwiches
    • Quesadillas ( 2 tortillas with something such as spinach a bit of tomato and cheese, hummus, whatever I have - less is more in these). Or just use 1 tortilla and cover with ingredients then fold over like a flat pasty) Cook in dry pan or on griddle and keep patting down and turning over till coloured and crispy
    • These are also good with a little left over mashed potatoes, curry paste and peas - HM samosa type snack.
    • Nuttella and banana filling gives a nice sweet treat.
    • Take a tortilla and cut it into lots of triangle. Either griddle in dry pan or bake in over if on till crispy. Use to scoop up dips and hummus.

Could not manage without my wholemeal tortillas
