Any other use for dishwasher tablets?
Being money saving I bought a few big boxes of dishwasher tablets when they were on a half price offer. Now my dishwasher has died. It's long out of warranty and tbh I'm happy washing up by hand, but are the tablets good for anything around the house?

Windowlene on carpet
I have spilled some Windowlene on my brand new carpet! It is the chalky pink stuff and not the spray. I soaked most of it up and put some water on it but there is now a whitish mark. Do I just keep putting more and more water on it till it fades? Please no one say it has been bleached. The carpet is less than 1 week old!

Cooking From Scratch Cheaper Than Processed Foods?
I was reading today on another forum that it is cheaper to cook from scratch than it is to buy pre prepared foods. However, it is my view that over time things have gotten more expensive and I now find it cheaper to eat processed food than cooked from scratch. Do others find the same?

Pedestal Mat for Large Toilet Base
Hi Folks, As the title says, I'm struggling to find a pedestal mat with a large enough cut-out to fit round the base of my toilet. I bought one in Dunelm Mill today and when I put it down, the edges of it are sitting up on the pedestal of the toilet instead of lying flat on the floor. All the mats I looked at seemed to be…

Removing Pink Dye Stains (Not Too Bad, Thankfully) From A White Cotton Shirt?
I'm sure this is an old, very popular topic, but I've tried searching threads and not came up with similar (found oil-like stains, stains on jeans, etc). I put a new, hot pink set of undies in the wash with whites by mistake, and my boyf is fizzing mad that his white cotton shirt has pink dye marks on it (just a few "dots"…

Sticky patches on plastic bath...how to remove?
I've noticed a couple of sticky patches on our bath, which doesn't get much use due to having a very good separate shower. I don't want to use nail varnish remover or other solvent, as the bath is almost pristine. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks, Floss

Average daily shop spending?
I am a single student and have started adding up my monthly food bills and am shocked to see I am spending on average £6 a day! I really don't know where it goes. I don't by junk food or sweets etc. The most expensive items are meat but I buy on bulk from Iceland. How much do most people spend a day?
