My gorgeous cat has wee'd om my leather sofa. It's one of those annoying sofa's where the cushions are sewn onto the seats.
I've tried disenfectant and Febreeze but nothing is working and the smell is still there as strong as ever two weeks later.
Any help greatfully appreciated. :j

So, the cat is gorgeous and the sofa is annoying?! At least the sofa doesn't pee in the house! lol
Personally, I would get rid of both and get a non-annoying sofa
(there is a topic on this already with lots of replies so I am sure a BG will be along shortly to merge it)

You could try cat wee remover. Your vet will probably sell it. Just need to check it won't damage your leather.

You need to use an enzyme cleaner that will kill the bacteria that is causing the odour - it also has to be safe to use on leather so that it will not damage it. Disinfectants and febreeze could damage the finish on the leather so please be careful.
You may need to clean the area a few times and get to as many areas as you can to eradicate the smell completely.
I have cats and I teach leather care to cleaners so I understand what works and what doesn't.
Hope this helps

hi - youl need either biological washing powder to break down the protein element of the urine and then spray with spirit to break down the amonia part (ill check my cat behavioural course notes when i get to work and confirm for you ) -and no idea about using them on leather -was it urinating or spraying? also why did she do it - was she spooked by something or anything changed in the house recently - have you got any / enough litter trays etc - medical reasons - urinary infection? you dont wanna be cleaning it to have to do it all again you need to try and find out the cause. dont use bleach as not only is it toxic but may encourage more spraying / terrotory marking etcBR as of 14/1/2009
