Sticky patches on plastic bath...how to remove?

I've noticed a couple of sticky patches on our bath, which doesn't get much use due to having a very good separate shower.
I don't want to use nail varnish remover or other solvent, as the bath is almost pristine. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Floss

I think it depends what has caused these sticky patches but I would be inclined to try vinegar as I have never known this to damage a surface.Slimming World at target0

I use a mix of one part vinegar, two parts washing up liquid and one part lemon juice in a spray bottle for cleaning baths and showers. Put it on and leave for half an hour go back and rinse offBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

any of the above - or you could try your cheapest cooking oil! or a 'magic sponge' if you have one.0

Thanks everyone!
I don't know what the cause of the sticky patches is, but lots of things to try & remove them!0 -
Another vote for WD40, if you have it.
Honestly, it's fabulous stuff - I use it for getting the sticky residue from CD and DVD cases from labels. Nothing touches it IMHO.
A little detergent afterwards so to avoid the ice rink effect. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
WD40, it will remove anything. I use it regularly to remove spray adhesive from my cutting mat and anything else sticky off other surfaces.0

Olive oil, it is amazing for removing the residue from barcode stickers. I bought a plastic jug and the sticker had been placed near the spout, a quick rub with olive oil and it all cake off. Can I hijack the thread, I've also got a plastic bath and in certain places it looks like newspaper print (it's not but it's the nearest thing I can think of to describe it ). I have no idea what causes it and have tried lots of different things to clean it.0
