Don't know where to start
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but everyone here has been so helpful in the past when I needed advice. I just need to un-burden tbh, but mods, please feel free to move or delete if you feel appropriate. OK, here goes. I was made redundant at the end of September and decided to start my own small business,…

Omid Djalilii gave me dinner!
God bless him. The man has been filming an advert for an insurance company around the corner for the best part of a week in freezing cold weather. (what a trooper/Star) The setup was a market and after it shut down they let us take as much fruit and veg as we could lay our hands on. MY stash will feed me for a week. I seem…

Raspberry recipe to FREEZE
I got some whoopsie fresh raspberries last night (2 boxes) from MrT & I would love to make some sort of sweet something from them for over Christmas. Maybe muffins, cakes, buiscuty things... I'm not too fussed! However, they need to freeze for a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any recipes for me, please? I've been…

Pretty bottles
Hi everyone! I've tried everywhere to find some pretty, smallish bottles so I can give some of our homemade sloe gin as gifts this Christmas - ones with little corks / stoppers would be good. Even Ebay doesn't seem to be much good, and 'homebrew' type shops don't seem to stock pretty ones - any ideas?

What to do with the chicken juices?

Boring coloured dishcloth question!
Hi, First-time post in this forum :D Can anyone recommend a place to buy non-white dishcloths? The type of knitted, stringy ones that are common everywhere. Green or blue would be preferable, but anything other than white would do. John Lewis used to stock green ones but they've been discontinued. For various reasons I'd…

Another use for left-over egg white
If ever I make custard or home-made ice cream I always use fresh egg yolks, not Bird's powder. Unfortunately this leaves me with several egg whites left over. The usual suggestion for these is to make meringue. I found a recipe today which is quick and which uses only the white of the egg, so I thought I'd share it with…

query about chicken?
sorry to put this query to you but tried to google it to no avail, so wondered if you can help? I am jointing a fresh chicken for 'rubber chicken' meals and on removal of the two breasts there seems to be a small area of what looks to be 'cooked' chicken in each breast- in that it has that 'texture' and those patches are…

Should kilner jars be waterproof?
Well should they? I've just bought 2 1 litre kilner like jars from Asda, when I washed them out and shook them, all the water came out from around the seal. Also when I have used a couple of old proper kilner jars with new seals, they have also done this. Maybe I'm expecting more of them than I should.
