I have no Gas in my home at the moment and have no one coming until next WED:mad:
I have my slowcooker as I can't use my hob as it's gas but my oven is fan assisted. I'm getting fed up with chips and so on cooked in the oven and would prefer to use my S/c but what can I cook in it.
I can't do any browning of meat or fry onion if you see what I mean! I'm a little stuck on what to feed us all for the next few day's!!

You could use a camping stove or invest in a two ring electric hobBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

You have my sympathy we had a gas explosion locally at the beginning of Xmas week last year, we used a camping stove for a couple of days as even the local takeaways were closed due to the lack of gas.0

You could ask on Freecycle if someone will lend you a table top oven. I have a student-style one that I bought when we moved in here and the oven was uncleanable. It has two hotplates on the top and served very well0

You could get the BBQ out, if you have one in the shed or something. If you have a real fire/woodburner you could hob cook on that.
I have several emergency camping stoves of different types incase of such a thing! like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hexamine-Hexi-Solid-Fuel-Festival-Camping-Folding-Stove_W0QQitemZ220427463086QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Camping_CookingSupplies_ET?hash=item33528029ae

Be very wary of using a camping stove indoors. They're meant for outside use only, need lots of ventilation and are considerably more prone to bursting into flames than domestic stoves! I say this as a die-hard camper of 40 years standing who owns several very good camping stoves but would never, ever use one indoors. Also unless you use thin based camping pots or very cheap ones it takes an age to heat up a normal quality heavy based pan. You can buy a one burner electric ring for under £20, so that might be the way to go.
You don't need to brown meat or fry onion if using in a slow cooker.Val.0
