Pretty bottles

Hi everyone!
I've tried everywhere to find some pretty, smallish bottles so I can give some of our homemade sloe gin as gifts this Christmas - ones with little corks / stoppers would be good.
Even Ebay doesn't seem to be much good, and 'homebrew' type shops don't seem to stock pretty ones - any ideas?

I got some from my local independent cookshop - they have them with all the jars for preserving.0

Lakeland have some, not sure how much you want to spend, they are about £3+ as I recall0

£3 seems a bit pricey - normally I buy everything from charity shops etc., but seeing as this is a 'food' product I think that new and clean is best.
I'll keep hunting!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
Hi Norma,
I use small (25cl) empty wine bottles (ask friends to save them for you) or bottles of Grolsch beer which Mr Pink obligingly drinks for me.
Both can be easily sterilised in the oven or dishwasher and made prettier with your own labels and ribbons.
For larger bottles Ikea's slom bottle is good value at £1.99.

Hi, I am new to the boards, hope you dont mind me posting
If you have an Ikea near to you they have some nice coloured bottles in the kitchen department. I have used some for making flavoured oils as presents. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Mine is going into a couple of well-washed maple syrup bottles-the flat ones. The only problem is getting the sticky labels off. DD has my "Sticky-stuff" remover and nothing else seems to work.I may end up sticking fresh labels over the old ones.0

Hi THIRZAH.
A good soak in soapy water followd by a rub with a pot scrub and some WD40 always works for me. If you don't have any WD40, try this thread for more ideas:

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some pretty glass bottles from? I am going to make some lovely flavoured Vodka's this year and need bottles to put them in to give as gifts? Thanks
Ps. Just made my first ever home made chicken pie. I am ridiculously pleased with myself and cant stop grinning! :j0 -
Hello introuble
well done on the chicken pie. I go to a french cafe for a treat and buy some pink lemonade. They let me take home the bottle too which is good
Perhaps see if you can do that if you ever see a nice bottle when you are out. You could also ask on freecycle, people always has bottles and jars
