How to clean and care for aniline leather?
I'm hoping that someone here might have an idea on how to clean and care for aniline leather. This is leather without a coloured coating sprayed on, although the hide itself is dyed. I bought two of these sofas earlier this year, http://www.dfs.co.uk/sofas/leather/trenton/159/2991/0 including cleaning and treatment wipes…

Future charity shop donations, anybody?
I have just received the latest catalogue for a kitchen and household goods shop based in the North of England (you know who I mean!). This is obviously their suggested Xmas gifts edition for the home cook and entertainer, but I was stunned and amazed at the number and variety of expensive dust-gatherers which they are now…

100% cotton sheets - non tumble dry?
Hi I recently bought some 100% Egyptian cotton 300 thread count bedding (sheets, pillow cases and duvets covers) from Dunelm Mill. Bargain
The ideas I pick up on here just amaze me. I have a pair of white corded trousers which looked a bit off white and really wanted to go out and buy a black pair then remembered reading a post about clothes dye. Well off I went to look for one of those little tins of dye (thirty years since I used a dye) and was surprised to…

Magimix questions
I'm currently lusting after one of these and have seen a few on Ebay but the used models seem to be discontinued in the regular shops. My question is: do Magimix food processors go on and on (like Kenwood Chefs)? With Kenwood Chefs I prefer the old models bc they are more solidly built than the new plastic ones. I…

Blue Peter Appeal (OS)
I'm off because of a hernia op and I've got the TV in the background. Did anyone see Blue Peter? I was suprised to see the appeal not asking for people to make cash or collect cans (what I remember as a kid) but making operation gowns out of t-shirts as each one costs £3 for the charity to buy. This hit me as quite OS -…
