Indian Onion Pickle
Some one some where must have a recipe to make those gorgeous little onions you get from the indian? The ones from my local take away are red and I think they have cucumber and tomato in there too. They are delish but I have no idea what so ever how I would go about making them - I always buy a couple of pots extra to go…

Freezing dried beans after cooking
I'm really getting into eating lentils, butter beans etc. I do tend to use tinned ones but I know that dried ones are cheaper. I live alone and it does seem a hassle to boil up a pan of butter beans for nearly an hour just for a couple of portions. Can I cook the beans and then freeze what I don't need to use just then?

Tinned mushrooms...
I bought about ten tins when they were cheap in Lidl ages ago. I haven't used any of them. How can you use tinned mushrooms  ...I'm thinking if I add them to stew or chilli or something they'll be soggy?? They were so cheap and seemed such a good buy at the time.

Spilt Paint
Yesterday I painted a celing and now I've found a big spot of paint on the carpet in another room. I'm not sure how it got there and I'm really annoyed with myself because it's a fairly new carpet (1 year old). Any tips on getting the paint out? I thought about white spirit but I don't know if the carpet would like that.

re-freezing defrosted foods?
Hello, Not sure if this is the place to put it... I noticed loads of Waitrose own brand ready meals (the curry £3.99 ones) reduced to 59p, so I bought 8x tikka masala and 4x korma, had 2 on day of purchase (today) and put the other 10 in the freezer. Now they used to say they are freezable on the package so I never…

I'm sure there must be some posts about this trick somewhere, but I have no heart to wade through the mse index... :o So here it is. Can I Shallow Fry instead of Oven Cooking?
I love battered fish and wedges which are normally cooked in the oven from the freezer. Any reason why I can't fry them - apart from needing a bit more oil? Is it better to fry them in a pan with the lid on? Sorry really dumba*s question but I wanna cut down my oven usage. Advice really appreciated.
