The only thing it needs to be is MS!!!!!! Heres one to start! Lemon Maderia 4oz marg 4oz sugar 2 eggs 1oz ground almonds heaped…

I have finally got a SLOW COOKER...
:T:T:T I bought a Tefal all-in-one rice cooker, steam cooker and slow cooker. I christened it tonight by steaming some broccoli and curly kale. Great job it did too. :D Tomorrow I'll be out from 11 am until 7:30 pm, and I have already set aside all the ingredients for a nice beef and onion in red wine, to put in the sc…

Tinned fruit
I buy tinned fruit (and fresh) and have noticed a big price difference between the supermarkets' basic range and branded tins. So far, I've not found any difference in the taste. Why is there such a difference in price when the quality is similar? Has anyone bought basic tinned fruit with an awful taste? Have I just been…

Dried prune glut - tempt me!
Okay, I bought a huge bag at the wholesalers thinking everyone would love them (because we all like dates) but they're 'wetter and squiggier' than dates and NOT a hit. But they are full of iron which is much needed here at the moment SO... What do you put them in? Any good recipes? Having them with custard is a no no -…

Cleaning: Stardrops vs. Homemade cleaners?
Hi all, I've been using Stardrops for years - my mum used to use it for EVERYTHING way back when I was little :) Lately, I've been considering making my own cleaning products using OS ingredients like borax, bicarb, white vinegar etc., but I'm not sure how this would stack up in the cost/effectiveness department. I'd love…

Any OS tips please for these circumstances?
Hi All I have been avidly reading the OS board & lots of old threads & have come in search of inspiration & advice. Apologies if…

quick banoffee pie question....
I really want to make one for tonight, looked up some recipes and have just put a tin of condensed milk in a pan of water to boil.. then I read somewhere it might explode...then I saw a few other recipes where you add the condensed milk to butter and sugar and stir.. it's not to late at this stage to take the tin out! But…

Easy way to get your 5 a day.
I've been struggling to get my 5 a day lately and took a while to work out an easier way to get on top of this. So, here are my top tips: The raisins in a Tracker bar. Tomato ketchup on my chips. A packet of Opal Fruits. Cherry coke. A slice of lemon in a G&T. I hope that helps. Anyone with more easy ideas, please include…

Can you refreeze water?
This might sound like an odd question, but the Small Penguins had juice last night and took a tray of ice cubes from the freezer. They then left it in the kitchen overnight, and the ice has melted. I hate to waste anything, and as the trays are fancy shapes (stars and hearts from Ikea) the cubes were more valuable than…

Lumpy Things in Drinks
You know me Im not the most domesticated person in the world:rolleyes: so I turn to my gurus for advice. I was amazed and amused when out with friends this weekend to have a cold Baileys. It was mostly down to the little square lumpy things that were bobbing around in the drink. I discussed this with my friends and…
