Dried prune glut - tempt me!

Okay, I bought a huge bag at the wholesalers thinking everyone would love them (because we all like dates) but they're 'wetter and squiggier' than dates and NOT a hit.
But they are full of iron which is much needed here at the moment SO...
What do you put them in?
Any good recipes?
Having them with custard is a no no - I've tried.
Easier the better...I haven't the energy to faff at the moment!
Thanks everyone. I'm sure you all love them...don't you?!

Delia's fallen choclate souffle with prunes in armagnac is gorgeous - although i'll admit its a bit of a faff. Soaked in alcohol they work well with dark chocolate so you could try the combination as a sponge or ice cream. Or you could use them in a boozy bread and butter pudding with or without chocolate.April Grocery Challenge: £250/£127.530 -
Delia's got a bit of a thing for them:

So I'd try putting them in a chocolate cake - usually pureed fruit means you can get a nice squidgy texture while reducing the butter a bit.2015 comp wins - £370.25

GR - the French classic is rabbit with prunes. And I also use them with duck. If that appeals at all I can give you more detailed recipes.
Otherwise I sometimes stone them, cook them in the microwave just covered with water for 5 minutes. Then drain, whizz in the food processor, and add maybe some more of the cooking water to make a smooth puree. That goes on my porridge in the morning.(keeps quite well in a large jar in the fridge). It is also nice on Ryvita, and healthier than most jams."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
Oooh, I'm SO going to do the Rivita thing. That sounds delicious.
We're veggie though so the rabbit/duck things don't appeal to me but feel free to post for the benefit of others finding this thread!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Years ago I soaked prunes in wine in a glass jar and served some up as a posh pudding.
No one could believe they were ordinary dried prunes - kept insisting they must be plums or something!;)"This site is addictive!"
