Lumpy Things in Drinks

You know me Im not the most domesticated person in the world:rolleyes: so I turn to my gurus for advice.
I was amazed and amused when out with friends this weekend to have a cold Baileys. It was mostly down to the little square lumpy things that were bobbing around in the drink. I discussed this with my friends and they reliable informed me that the lumpy things were frozen water
So before I go ahead and look stupid by asking for a recipe can I ask you all a question?
Can you freeze water:beer:
Thanks you
Nels xx

You know, I've heard it's possible. There's even talk of being able to make it into fancy shapes but I think that's just showing off.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I don't think you can - the only thing you can freeze, with any certainty, is milk

ahhhh so thats whats causing it - - - - - the ice:rotfl: must go on a low water diet:D0 -
they are more for asthetic effect - if an OS'er used them they are basically showing off!
The lumps can be bought from the shops, but that's not very MSE. I haven't had call to make them myself, as the baileys doesn't usually stay in the galss long enough to warrant it, so can't pass on a recipe unfortunatelyr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I think the best thing to do is to buy them off the internet. You can have frozen water sent to you from Alaska by UPS . . ."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0
