Butter pack weight
The home-made butter thread reminded me of a query I've had for ages. My scales seem pretty accurate - but when I weigh a 250g pack of butter sometimes it's as little as 200g - I know it has that funny 'e' which I think means 250g on average rather than a definite measure, but i've never found a pack yet that goes over. Is…

Cheap set of chopping boards?
Does anyone know where I can get a set of plastic chopping boards, in the HSE/FSA* colour code of red, blue, yellow, green, brown & white. Obviously, and in line with Martin's Money Mantra, they should be the cheapest available. It would also be nice if they were also available singly, so that the more commonly used ones…

Leaving the workplace to 'work' at home
Hello All, I was planning to stop work in April to concentrate on my home and other wifely pursuits as I am fortunate to have a husband who a) believes that this kind of thing is important, and b) earns enough that we don't need my salary coming in to meet our expenses. I grew up in a family where money was always tight,…

Does anyone know of one that fits large bread vertically - at the moment we have a 2-slot 4 slice toaster and you have to put the bread in sideways so you…
