Creases in fake and real leather
Hello! I have recently bought a fake leather jacket and am delighted with it. see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=735881 However it won't be such a bargain if I never wear it because of the packing creases:eek: I also have a similar problem with a soft leather jacket. Any ideas that are likely to…

Posh lunch ideas for friends please.
I've got some friends coming over for lunch on Saturday. The last time I visited them, she did a fancy mozzarella and pesto type salad which she seemed to knock up in about 2 mins. So, has anyone got any ideas for something quick but sophisticated? Don't think a cheese sarnie is going to cut it!

Turning things off...
Is it enough to turn things of at the plug or should I unplug as well? I'm terrible at this and should make more of an effort. What do you switch off/unplug? And does it make a difference in your usage? Thanks.

Waste and the West
My husband is Turkish and I only really started thinking about how much food we used to waste when his mother came for 6 months 9 years ago when I had my first child. She used every last thing in the fridge and made some amazing meals out of virtually nothing. She bought a large jar of homemade sundried tomator puree paste…

Hi, i am trying to cut out all the rubbish that we eat as a family and really just want to buy the basics foodwise. There are four of us, two adults and two young kids. I keep wasting money on "treats" and never having enough proper food in. Just curious to know what everybody else classes as "basics" that they keep in…

Barm Brack
Years ago I used to make a barm brack but I have lost the recipe and the modern ones just aren't as good. It was nothing fancy but it was really moist and fruity and froze well. I remember that I had to soak 1lb of mixed fruit in 1 pint of cold tea overnight and I know I used sugar, an egg, and SR flour but Ican't remember…

Question about microwaving meals!
Hi! Apologies if this doesn't belong on this board, but I wasn't sure where to put it.. I'm a student currently trying to cut down on food spending (and spending in general!) by making super cheap meals and freezing portions of it. If I freeze them in those plastic tubs you get, can I take the tub out of the freezer and…

Hi all I seem to have bags full of ironing where-ever I look! I've got a steam generator but still find it takes ages and is boring. Anyway I've seen those steam presses and wonder if they are any good? The blurb says you can do a cotton top in seconds because it only needs two presses... thats enough to sell it to me lol!…
