Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15th February.. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been hanging around for about half an hour or so thinking someone else will start the daily....but no....so here I am doing the honours.
I hope there aren't too many sore heads out there in "The Real World" after yesterday's Valentine's day. Personally I'd rather have the money than the roses chocolate or champagne:rotfl::rotfl:
Smoky - if you're reading this, I hope that your OH has shown some improvement. I really feel for you, you must be so worried and upset.
Not a lot going on in SnowyOwlsVille so I'll naff off.
Have a fab Friday....oooooo FRIDAY!!!:T:T:T

Morning Snowy owl and others. I have been around, but messing with somthing else.
Looks chilly out there today. Off to work soon and then the weekend off.
We are off out tonight for a meal at a friends house, so should be fun.
Last night was a successful roast pork dinner with all the family and then sit down by the fire and fall asleep.
Not sure what to do at the weekend... I fancy going to Tavistock, don't know why yet it just came in to my head.
Have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hi SNOWY - I was looking for the OS Daily and you've called this the Diary!
I've been up for a while and managed to get some paperwork done. Now, I feel half asleep!
SMOKY - thinking of you and your OH. (((Hugs))).
Well, today I need to change the sheets (let's hope we get some more good drying weather) and clean the house through, do my food shop and, this afternoon, we are visiting our ex-neighbours in their new house five minutes away. I'm looking forward to that. The new owners of their old house took a week to move in, so the house looked sad and empty but now there's a nice shiny Jag parked outside so it's looking happier!
My DS2's wife-to-be has just learned that the teaching job she is training for is now hers permanently which is great news. She started in September with no guarantee that she would be taken on at the end of the year so, although she has worked very hard and been really committed, it's always been at the back of her mind that it was only temporary. She had taken a big drop in pay when she left her last job so it's been tough on her and DS2 as they only bought their house just over a year ago. So now she is a fully fledged science teacher and I couldn't be more pleased for her. She really deserves it and can now concentrate more on the wedding in August.
Anyway, I'm off to catch up with yesterday's thread and then have a shower.
See you all later. (((Hugs))) to all in need.

Nice and quiet here, OH on a day off this morning so only me up.
SMOKEY thinking of you.
TATTYCATH what a lovely thoughtful thing for your DD to do.
JAYWARD How lovely.
Appologies to anyone I haven't mentioned. I had a friend pop round yesterday and we had cottage pie, swede, cauli with choc ice for pudding, whilst OH was at karate. Saw DS teacher yesterday, am happy with how he's doing and as she said, he's a typical boy who isn't ready for reading yet. So glad she's really sensible. I'm more concerned with his social and emotional development and that's fine. OH and I are both late developers academically.
Not much on here today. The kids are off for half-term from this afternoon :T . I've still got to work but OH is off, as there is only me to organise it's not too bad and I only have two nights.
Plan today to do some cleaning, also studying, plus need to go to the farm shop. Dinner will be curry. Then we're off to the pictures tonight, not sure what we're going to see.
Have a good day all.

Morning all
TFI Friday, I'm so tired I want to sleep all through the weekend & it's half term next week so I'm only working 9 til 12, Woo Hoo. On the downside we'll have Katy underfoot for a whole week, unless she decides to go away.
I went to WI last night & as I was looking round the group I kept thinking about the TV prog, Jam & Jerusalem & all the characters in it. As with the last group I belonged to we have all the same characters, lol.
Hugs to Smokey & anyone else in need. Have a good poets day.
Hugs Hester

Dear Diary,
Today I had a Ninny day which was lovely. He helped Poppa do some cementing. His shorts will never be the same againbut hey ho what are MIL's for.
X might I add.
He has just gone home now. We're having Salmon a la King for tea which should be Tuna a la King but I had no tuna. DH's aunty made it last time we caught up and it was delish. She gave me the recipe. I think I like it better with salmon. I'm not all that keen on tuna. I don't buy it here anymore, it's all from Thailand.
Smokey I'm hoping no news is good news from you. <hugs>
Moiliere great news about DIL2b's job security.
Snowy I'm still waiting for the photo of your tidy office.
HH What is W1?
Will pop back later. Have a great Friday. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Doing well on my diet, until I celebrated Valentine's day with a couple of glasses of wine - can that really put my 4lbs back on
Going into Asda today, supposedly only for wholemeal bread flour and natural fromage frais, so will try to walk past the special offers
Slimming World chips for tea, and it's rediculous how much I lam looking forward to them, I tried to make crisps last night, but I don't think Walkers need to start worrying yet :rotfl:

Morning all :hello:
Thinking of you smokybabe ((((hugs))))
For some unknown reason I woke up at 6am, which isn't like me at allbut I'm not complaining! I suppose I did have an early night - though I didn't go to sleep until midnight, I was curled up in my jimjams in front of the telly by 9pm
I did think about using the early start to go to the gym, but I've been the last 2 days in a row anyway...
Anyway, need to get up and dressed and go to work. Looking forward to another night in this evening.

Morning all,
i just popped my head out the door and it`s still too early to tell what the weather will be like today.
It`s quite cold and has rained in the night but i`m hopeful it will be nice.
I woke half an hour ago on the sofa but seem to have slept very well ( probably because i was so tired i just passed out) and i have a busy day ahead - all under my control of course as i am off w**k today
The shopping will be delivered before lunch so i need to do as much as possible before then and i will start after several cups of tea :coffee: ahhhh!
I hope everyone has a great Friday and that somethng good happens to make your day!
