OS Daily Valentines day 14th Feb 08

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th February.. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:lovethoug :lovethoug Happy Valentines day to you all

That's about as mushy as I am going to get. No hugs, kisses or anything like that.
It's just another excuse by card maufacterers and florists to pick your pockets every year. Oh and Thorntons too. And maybe the French with their champagne.
I have done my bit and left a very nice cut price card for my OH. I wonder why she moans at my lack of romance :rotfl:
(really I am not all that bad)

Off to work soon. Brought in on an early shift instead of a late, which suits me fine. That means I can make a nice roast Pork valentines roast, instead of freezing my butt off in an office all night.

Well folks I hope you have a good day and that someone out there loves you.

    Morning everyone :hello:
    Happy Valentines day!
There will be no cards or prezzies for me today and not even a bunch of flowers, we always do something a few weeks later when all the prices are back to normal, we`ve done this for the last few years so we won`t be missing out on anything.

I stood under the shower for ages this morning trying to wake my self up and still managed to arrive at w**k early AGAIN! i shall have to get out of this habit :D ah well at least i`m organised.
I`m looking forward to a well earnt lie in tomorrow until at least 8 o`clock and then lots of house thingies to catch up on, i actually hope to start with the blitz later today so will see how much energy i can muster up later.
Have a lovely Valentines day everyone, hope your days are filled with hearts and flowers.
    SD

Edit - i`ve just caught up with yesterdays thread - Smokybabe i am so sorry to hear of your situation.
I hope that things improve and quickly too, i will be thinking of you and your family today ((((hugs)))) SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Smokeybabe, so sorry to hear your news I'll be thinking of you all & praying for your OH.

I got a valentines pressie from hubby, which was a great surprise, he went to town yesterday & one of the bookshops is closing down & clearing their stock. He bought me a complete boxed set of the Inspector Morse series, it was only £9.99 for 13 books.
I hope everyone has a romantic Thursday.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All

Well there'll be no cards, flowers or chocs for me as I'm single and no one loves me. Couldn't even tell you when I last got anything on Valentine's Day.

Got a meeting with two of the bosses later. Been told it's nothing to worry about, just a 10 minute catch up. :o

Got a big expense pop up out of the blue. My work mini disc recorder's broken. So have to buy a new one later as a matter of urgency probably going to be a couple of hundred pounds:eek:

    Well hope everyone's ok

    Happy Valentine's Day to all.

N9EAV - you old romantic, you!

I just bought a cheapie (but very nice card) for my DH and a bag of heart-shaped sweeties (probably crammed full of e-numbers - they were only £1 from Woollies but look good!) which I've put in a hot pink heart-shaped tray I found in a £1 shop. I don't know what I've got or whether I've got anything - he doesn't always remember! If he does, it's a real surprise!

Well, yet again I didn't get chance to read the rest of yesterday's thread - I'll try and keep up today.

Dinner tonight is pork tenderloin but I haven't decided what to do with it yet. It's lovely roasted so may just do a simple roast.

A day devoted to work and paperwork today, methinks, and an evening devoted to[STRIKE] dozing off with the knitting in my lap[STRIKE] knitting and studying a crochet pattern I've found to see if it's something I can manage to do.

The weather has been lovely lately but I've found it really cold when everyone else keeps saying how warm it is. Must be my age!

Anyway, off to read yesterda's thread and then have a shower. See you all later. Have a great and lovey-dovey day.

SMOKEYBABE so sorry to hear you news. Sending love and prayers to you.

Hugs to anyone else who wants one and JACKIEO hope all went well yesterday.

No valentines day for me, we just don't do it and I hate all the assorted tat in the shops. Am crawling towards half-term and starting to panic as I am behind with my studying. The OU reckon I'm supposed to do 14 hours a week. I don't think so:rolleyes: .

Not much to report here today. Need to stick mince in the SC for cottage pie. Also need to run around with the hoover. Going to Mum and Dads for lunch and of course will be studying, oh joy. Have parents evening after school, am concerned about DS reading. Then we have swimming lessons, plus I was supposed to be going to see a friend tonight.

    Have a good day all.
