washing powder
I normally buy Tesco own brand of washing tablets and wash on 40 but decided to go for 30 but found traces of white on dark clothes. Do I need to buy Aerial which boasts of washing on 30 using this. I suppose it would be cheaper to buy their powder and use less electricity as price is going up (we changed to npower last…

Teenagers bedroom
I wondered if anyone has suggestions about my 13 yo son's bedroom - it is a disgrace! I know thats the case with most teenagers (I was pretty bad) but even when I bite the bullet and force him to tidy it, it is trashed again the next day. He doesn't seem to care about the mess at all. It's not so much I mind it being a bit…

Metallic Marks on Porcelain sink
Hi just as the title suggests, we've acquired those horrible dark grey scratch marks on our white bathroom sink. I think they're from belt buckles and buttons on jeans. They're really obvious, and I wondered if there's any way to get them to fade or to get rid of them completely? Cheers

Can I just run this one past all you experienced cooks out there please?
Most of the recipes that we use (for casserole/soup type things) begin with 'sweating onions/vegetables etc in oil' to make the base of the recipe. I've been trying this out in my microwave using onions, peppers etc in a drop of water to soften them first. It strikes me that this is reducing the amount of fat in the end…

I've devised a "weekly" shopping list, a "bi-weekly" shopping list and a "monthly" one. It does take a…

My Old Style 'Full Circle' - Sorry, bit long
Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a year now but have never had the courage to post before.
