Morning all
I'm feeling very motivated today - have been cooking up a storm to last me the next few days - roasted a chicken the other night, used leftovers last night to make chicken supreme...mmmmmmm! Also made a bacon and egg pie that will do dinner and a few lunches. I love feeling so organised! :D How are you all today?

My dinner secret!!
Hubby cooked a beef curry the night before last, lucky me :-) I loved it, plenty of veg in it too. He, on the other hand was really disappointed with it and refused to have the leftovers for the next night (damn!!). Whilst feeding baby at 3am inspiration hit me - once hubby had gone to work I threw all the leftovers into…

Reheating leftovers - I'm scared!
I got a lovely little slow cooker for xmas and I'm planning my first lamb stew thingie. I'd like to make two portions and put one portion in the fridge for the next day, but I've never really dealt with leftovers before and for obvious reasons I would like to avoid death. So...what are the basic rules for leftovers? If I…

What is worth making instead of buying?
I already make my own bread and am thinking about hoummous, but not sure if this is cost-effective. Does anyone know? Does anyone else make their own clothes
I thought it would be great to hear from other money savers who sew their own clothes. I used to make a lot of clothes and thought I might try again but I am beginning to think I am one of very few people who do this. I tried to find a class I could go to locally as I need a bit of an update but the nearest was some miles…

Bread mix thread
Has anybody tried these? They are 79p for 1kg, which makes 2 loaves. I saw granary, ciabatta and sunflower seed packs. I have been using the Hovis granary breadmixes which are on special offer at Asda (75p each or 2 for £1) and make a 500g loaf as well. Aldi breadmixes work out 10p a loaf cheaper, which is all good by me!
