Life & Management / Efficiency books

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a good life/time management type book?

I'm sooo disorganised its untrue but havent the faintest idea as to how to go about organising myself better.

Thought there might be a recommendation for such a book I could get some ideas from.

Thanks

I hesitate to suggest it here, but I find Anthea Turners Perfect Housewife book to be really good:o. It really DOSE have good principals for everything from organizing your own diary & family calander to organizing your linen cupboard & shopping lists, it doesn't go into budgets & finances (that's what this site is for:D) but as I say the prinicpals can be applied to a lot of areas of your life (i.e get organized & things run a lot smoother & therefore cheaper!). Some of it is a bit poncy (who takes glass kilner jars on a picnic?) but but again the principal is sound : think about how you are going to be presenting your picnic & make it look inviting!

I read Time Management for dummies several years ago, it is for personal life and business. here's a link to amazon, the price is really low as cheap as £1.77 or get it from your local library.

I also read this organising for dummies book a few weeks ago, I found it really helpful, my MIL has it now, and it seems to be helping her, and the age of 75 I would have given up trying to get organised, she says it will make it easier for us when she's no longer here. Bless!

And as my birthday is coming up I might just put a couple of them on my wish list!

Don't forget that most local libraries allow you to browse on-line and reserve books. They can get them in from other branches so there's plenty to choose from.

That way you don't end up spending a fortune, and cluttering your bookshelves too. If you find a book really useful you can always go to amazon and buy a copy for yourself.

I read the Anthea book and enjoyed it, but to be honest most of her tips were either common sense or things that you can pick up on this forum. But it is quite motivating having a book like that on your bedside table for a few weeks!
