Jiaozi -Chinese dumplings
I fancy trying the recipe for these in The Pauper's Cookbook by Jocasta Innes. It does sound a bit of a performance though. I wondered if anyone had made them and if so, was it worth the trouble ? They are little crescent shaped dumplings filled with a mixture of minced pork, prawns, soy sauce, and spring onions. You then…

Braised lamb too sweet. Help!
I really hope someone can help me to save my braised lamb dish. I cooked it with root vegetables, onions, some stock, garlic, little tomato puree and a large spoonful of spiced plum chutney. It's horrible - far too sweet. What can I do to salvage it? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Morning Everyone, hope you are having a good weekend. I need to share or I'll cry! I'm NOT having a successful weekend with colours at all. A son who loves to cook......
Please feel my pain here folks..... My 14 year old son has chosen "food tech" for one of his GCSE options. Great news :) Today he decided he wanted to cook chocolate brownies and some sort of bun with jam in. Not a problem until he told me halfway through mixing the eggs into the flour that he didn't remember the recipe…

Does anyone know of such a recipe? The dish was sliced lamb and the licorice sauce was just amazing, and I'd…

Baked potatoes used as 'packed' lunch
Not sure if this is the right forum to ask in, but I'll give it a shot anyway. ;) I'm trying to come up with a variety of lunches to take with me to Uni, to save me spending on convenience foods. I'm quite partial to a baked potato while I'm there, but I'd rather cut down that £2.75 cost if possible. Is there any…

How long do you bake 2 Xmas cakes for?!
I've just put two 8inch Xmas cakes in the oven and was wondering if I should increase the cooking time? Should I have put them in together? Probably not - but I thought it might save a bit of gas. It's probably a silly question - but then again, I am very silly at times:p Thanks in advance

Yorkshire Pudding Mix - How Long is it Good/Safe For in the Fridge?
Hello Thinking of making some yorkshire puddings this week. Then fill them with veggies, or sausage/mash. But not sure whether I need to make up a tiny, tiny amount (serves 1), or if it's OK to keep in the fridge ... and how long for. I have no freezer. Or any other ideas? I did use a packet once, put half of the mix…

Old Unused postage stamps
We have been sorting through the loft, and found my wifes old stamp collection from about late seventies through to the early eighties. T Cut in the washing machine!!
So, I decided to be MS and valet my car myself instead of paying somebody to do it. I used T-Cut on some cloths and, continuing with the MS theme, decided to wash them instead of slinging them away. Small problem. The washing machine now STINKS to high heaven of chemicals. I have put it on 2 boil washes with loads of…
