:j Needed to use up my bacon and didnt know what to do, normally it would go in the bin but trying much harder to not waste I par boiled some tatties then fried them up in butter and pepper with some onion and bacon and then served up with grated cheese, v. tasty brunch!!

Another sewing question
Has anyone made scrunch cravats? If you have, could you recommend a pattern and what techniques to use? I't's proving difficult to find cravats in the right colour for my fiance and his BM and we've only got six weeks to go, so getting two made by a company is going to be pushing it.

Making pies?
I have just done my meal plan for this week and it included pie. I would love to make pies but not sure what to do. I know it sounds stupid but what kind of pastry does everyone use? Also do you have to bake the pie shell first and then add your filling? One last question, can I use those foil pie dishes for making my own…

Nice Cake / baking ideas for packed lunches
Hi I have started getting into home baking and id like some ideas to put in DD lunchbox. our school has a strict no chocolate policy which makes it quite hard. DD is also not a big fan of dried fruit. I have done banana muffins and cheese muffins and mini iced cakes. Does anyone have any other easy ideas?? thanks Claire

cheap meat
i usually only buy fresh meat from the butchers or iceland, but was wondering if it makes a lot of difference buying frozen meat such as the type they sell in iceland. all the meat i tend to buy is mixed with other things for things like spag bol or curry etc, but i am on benefits now, and am determined to keep my shopping…
