peeling potatoes

does anyone know of a device that can peel potatoes? i keep maiming myself with the knife and i can't get on with a potato peeler.....wondered if there was something that does it for you? ( and don't say oh coz he's hopeless)

Buy an expensive peeler...honest. I used to use a cheapie and near about killed myself. I bought a posh brown handled peeler from Scott's for about £7 and it is the business.

They also do the grand mammy of potato peelers but it is £35! Great if you do a lot every day but £35!

A Kenwood chef wth a potato rumbler attachment seems to be the domestic equivalent of the huge commercial models

I second getting a proper peeler. My Mother has a peeler that's worse than useless and gauges huge lumps out of your hands while leaving the potato skin intact :rolleyes: That's because I nicked her sooper dooper squashy handled quick as a flash potato peeler as I'm too tight to buy my own

I've got one of those, it's the only peeler I can use without peeling the skin off my fingers lol

just dont peel em.

if we have mash i microwave my spuds and scrape out the flesh, and the roasted skins are yummy,

even when making chips leave the skin on, so much goodness is in the skin.
