Quandary regarding Milkman.
Just paid my Milkman and have been told cost of a pint going up by 2p to 42p. I get 2xpints per day of milk and a 1/2 big bag of spuds per fortnight. He doesn't deliver everyday so sometimes I have as much as six pints on my doorstep on Fri to cover the weekend. Now I did say to him the whole point of me using him was to…

Are Waitrose Any Good?
My local supermarket Morrisons is closing on Jan 21st, they sold the store to Waitrose. The store is just a few hundred yards away from my house so the Waitrose is all i have for shopping. The nearest Tesco or Sainsburys to me is 4 miles away  I don't drive, so i have no choice but to shop here  I have heard…

Given a breadmaker, no spoon measures
it's a MR 48261, quite an old model I believe, but as I don't have access to a cooker & oven just now it's going to be lovely to have HM bread again, along with the HM soup from my SC :) anyway, it's got the measuring cup with it but the Tablespoon & teaspoon measure is missing. I've always hand made my bread, so it's…

Soda crystals for cleaning - what did I do wrong?
Yesterday I tried using a weak diluted solution of soda crystals to clean my bathroom tiles and toilet. I made up the solution recommended on the pack (29g to 1 pint of hot water) but when the tiles and toilet dried, they were covered with white streaks and I had to go over them with a dry cloth. Is that normal or did I go…

Jamie Oliver, What is Semolina Flour?
I was given the lovely Jamie Oliver Italian cook book for Christmas and have made the pizza bases already, they were very yummy by the way. I printed out the recipe, but wanted to ask this question…

Candied peel - I need some inspiration
I've got a (slightly out of date) pack of Sundora candied peel in my cupboard. The recipes on the box are italian panettone and bavarian stollen which both seem a bit long winded. Got any ideas? Thought about chopping a few bits up and adding them to a biscuit mix. Do you think it would work?
