hello,
Does anybody know how to make panins from scratch. Making own bread etc.
Children are driving me mad asking for them. so I thought it might be cheaper
to make your own.

Ciabatta bread is delicious I'll agree - but I was thinking of the Money Saving aspect
You can get 4 baguettes in Somerfield for 49p... or it could be 99p....0 -
if that is all they are made from (baguettes ) then it is just as easy to buy and do your own filling how would I actually flatten them? would I have to buy the flattening grill.0

do you have a George foreman grill ? I just use mine instead of a proper flattening grill - hold it for a few seconds and it does a great job.Currently on a life sort-out !! ...reducing bills, decluttering and getting into fitness - busy bee0

I dont have a george forman grill, only the old fashioned breville maker0

OH the other day did one of these with a bread roll in the George Foreman grill thing we had bought for us and tasted quite nice actually
He put some butter in a pan and chopped up a couple of mushrooms, abit of red and green pepper and some grated carrot & apple. Then added a little of the left over chicken, then placed in the roll with some grated cheese and squished in the grill and was done in about 2 mins. It tasted lovely.

those part-baked rolls & baguettes from Lidl make great paninis, but best of all for the purpose are those ciabatta rolls they sell, delicious0
