Clean washer jets
Silly the best way to clean washer jets, one side has stopped squirting. I've tried using thin wire to clear the jam but the wire cannot go far enough in. I cant take the hose off easily as its behind a piece of the bodywork. The only thing I have not tried is an airline but I'm concerned it could damage the pump. Any…

Hi, I recently took my Vauxhall zafira 2004 to the garage due to clutch not behaving. I was told that I needed a new clutch and I was given the price. I agreed to have the work done. They rang me the day after to inform me that I needed a flywheel too and gave me a new price, which I agreed to. They called my the following…

Contract law?? Car purchase?
A few days ago I negotiated the purchase of a used car from a chap I was introduced to by a friend. A price was agreed £550, and the following morning I met the chap at a local cafe and paid for the car (cash) and the owner handed me the documents. This was witnessed by a third party. An hour later, after a few coffees, we…

Second hand car right to return
Hi, Looking for advice please. I purchased a second hand car from a dealer just a week ago. The car now will not start, the engine does not turn over at all and the electrics go crazy. I negotiated a 12 month RAC warranty at time of purchase but in the small print diagnostics are not covered under the warranty. If I had…

Pulled over today
Need some advice. Was driving up a local main street near where I live and I went through a Pedestrian Crossing on Amber. The car behind me stopped on Red. In the opposite direction was a Police van who after seeing me go through, made a U Turn and came behind me with his lights on to pull me over. He said I had gone…

That was always going to get peoples attention. What am I on about? It starts with parking in my area being poor. Fine, I'm not lazy, I just park over the street. I have valid tax, insurance and MOT as long as I'm not causing an obstruction I can park where I like. Appears the idiot that recently moved in to one house I…

I slightly damaged other person car
Dear all A bit of advice please. After 12 years of no claims I reversed into a wall in October and knocked part of the wall down. I knew it was going to be expensive (the wall), so I let the insurance handle it all including fixing my car (bit of damage to back corner) and curtsey car while mine was being repaired - no…

Mot dangerous fail, driving once fixed
I'm after some advice as can't seem to find any info when googling. My car failed its mot yesterday with a dangerous fault, back tyre bald. The garage didn't tell me the seriousness of driving with a dangerous fail so took the car home unknowingly. Since home I've changed the wheel to the spare and I'm taking it to be…

Advice needed: Consumer rights on user car
Hi all, I'm after some advice.... I bought a used Mini Countryman 7 weeks ago from a non-Mini dealer, the car is 2014 and has just over 50,000 miles on the clock, and came with a dealer warranty up to £1000. Last weekend the engine started to make a hideous noise, so we took it to the main Mini dealer to diagnose it for…

Car dealer: breach of contract
We collected our brand new BMW on Monday from the dealership in Southampton. We have taken out a new PCP agreement against the car, which matched an offer advertised on their website. Approximately 2 weeks ago we paid a £1000 holding deposit to keep the car because we were happy with the agreement as the dealer added GAP…

Exhaust mount replacement cost?
I went to an exhaust type garage and looking at the exhaust the guy said I needed a new clamp for the mid pipe and one of the backbox as they had gone. He wants to charge me £40 for this but I think surely this is a bit much for some clamps?

Peugeot 207cc - Reject or Repair?
I bought a Peugeot 207cc just before Christmas from a dealer around 60 miles from where I live. The engine cut out as I waited to leave a petrol station just after collecting the car, but I put it down to me not being used to the clutch and stalling it. Shortly after arriving home, the engine management light illuminated…

VW PCP labelled as HP
Hi there, about to purchase a used VW on PCP but the VWFS contract says it's Hire Purchase with an 'option to purchase' at the end. The contract doesn't mention PCP at all but shows a balloon payment at the end. It is all labelled clearly as HP. Has anyone else experienced this? I had a PCP with them 5 years ago and the…
