Hi,
I recently took my Vauxhall zafira 2004 to the garage due to clutch not behaving.
I was told that I needed a new clutch and I was given the price. I agreed to have the work done.
They rang me the day after to inform me that I needed a flywheel too and gave me a new price, which I agreed to.
They called my the following day to collect my car but as I was driving home (a 15 minute drive) I noticed a lack of power with the car struggling to go up the slightest of hills.
I took the car back and they said that it was the vac ( no idea what that is) but they sorted it for no extra cost.
They rang me the following day to pick the car up. I picked it up, drove it home and parked it outside my house. The car drove fine and the parting of over a months rent didn’t seem too bad.
An hour or so later, I went out and realised a large patch of oil under the car, I popped the bonnet and oil was all over the engine, I placed my hand under the car body and that was also full of oil.
I took the car straight back to the garage and he said he thinks it might be the turbo? I am at my witts end. Is this a dodgy mechanic or should I cut my losses and look for another car? The car has never leaked oil before.

Quite probably just a loose oil pipe somewhere.0

Hopefully AdrianC. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that it’s not going to be another hefty bill. Thank you0

If it was the oil pipe to the turbo that failed, then the turbo may be toast. Without oil to the bearings, they can fail rapidly.
If it was any other oil pipe, you may be lucky. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
