Tyre wear - inside
I have a VW Eos (Golf/Passat-derived, I think) Tyres were put on around 15,000 miles ago, they are Bridgestone Potenzas. Just had the MOT fail for offside rear tyre depth below legal minimum. Also nearside rear tyre worn close to legal limit. The guy who serviced the car said his opinion was they were fine, and he argued…

New Yaris on finance good idea?
Hi all I have read through a lot of posts on finance and PCP but wanted an opinion on my situation. I currently have an 03 plate Clio. It's my first car and I've had it for nearly 4 years. I've had a few problems with it, had to fork out a lot for a new sun roof as it was leaking (I think £600 inc labour and parts), had…

Car in the kitchen
Amazing story this. Car apparently goes crazy, revving like mad and rather than turn the engine off the owner tries to put the autobox in park (presumably without any brakes applied) but when it gets to reverse it shoots backwards, across the road, through a wall and demolishes a kitchen. Anyone else not quite sure about…

Can't declare SORN either by phone or online
Declared online for this vehicle last year but this year it said the renewal no. wasn't recognized. Tried with V5 no. but that wasn't recognized either. Tried by phone but it's fully automated, so no human to tell. If I go to a PO, won't "computer say no" for them too?

Smoking in Cars Carrying Children
Only a complete moron would light up a fag in a car when children present. I am astonished that this practice should require a "plan" by the politicians before banning it and that the Government thinks that public information campaigns are preferable. How stupid can people be?

AskMID letter
Hi Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure if it fell under the other section! My parents gave me their scooter, a 125 Piaggio as they bought a new one. Me and my other half did our CBTs and got insurance in 2012. He started to use it to get to work as I have my car and don't use it as much. So when the…

Toyota IQ opinions and experiences
Hi all, I will soon need to buy a second car (already have a MK2 Focus as a family vehicle which OH uses) to get to work myself. This is because I am changing jobs; with previous job I was able to take the bus as it was close to home. I am looking at 20 miles each way per day. What drives me (pun not intended!) towards…

Dodgy Car deal
We find ourselves in a horrid situation. Try and cut a long story short. Last week bought a second hand car for my daughter's first car. Was advertised as having power steering, would have a 12 month MOT, 6 months tax. Bought it from a local trader who offered 30 day warranty, talked the talk, said anything we needed doing…
