Diagnostic test vauxhall corsa

Hi guys, wondering if anybody can help me I have a 1.2 sxi 60 plate corsa it quite new so didn't really expect any problems, the energy management light has come on, it drives fine for about 4 miles then it starts to jump but not cut out, it feel like a juddering sensation I have taken it to have a diagnostic test however no fault shows but the light is still flashing on and off and the juddering still accrues any advice on what I could do next ?? Thanks :)

  • get it to a garage and have the codes read. Could be something as simple as a dodgy spark plug / HT lead, or it could be something more serious, but first you need to get the codes read. Any decent independent garage can do this for you, usually about £20.

Its obviously an issue only when the engine gets fully up to temp.

Hi where are abouts are you? If theres a light on the dash indicating a problem them with the correct diagnostic equipment there should be codes stored.perhaps go to vauxhall to have it read with there tech 2 computer or find a specialist.
  • Hi what's the difference between a solid management light and a flashing one.

I'm sure it will tell you in the car's handbook.
  • do you mean engine management light? or emmissions warning?

you need to read you cars manual to tell the difference and why it would flash instead of being a solid on light.
  • I'll take an educated guess and say a solid engine light means "drive your car to the dealer as soon as possible"

and a flashing one means "Get the car to a dealer now (by way of recovery)"

Its usually something along those lines :)
  • Thanks both! Yes I took it to a garage and had diagnostic but nothin was reading that's while the management engine light was flashing and going off there was no reading from the machine, since then the engine management lite is staying on solid and car juddering when engine is warmed up but if the diagnostic machine and pedal test are not picking anything up such as faults and codes I'm unsure what action to take

There's generic diagnostics machines and then there's more advanced ones that Vauxhall use (Used to be Opcom but unsure if still is)

If the light is on, then the computer in the car has found a fault somewhere. The light being on is the computer telling the driver there is a fault.

If the diagnostics test shows no fault codes stored, then i'd wager it wasn't a very good diagnostics test.

  • Ok thanks any reason the pedal test wouldn't work ?? The diagnostic machine was picking up a brake light that was out so don't see any reason why not
